For a plug-in this is easy. The plug-in would have to make sure that it
calls the gimp-plugin-domain-register procedure. A Script-Fu script

Hi,
Supposing there is a somewhat popular bunch of scripts distributable

have to:
1. Somehow set package name for gettext that follows a particular
scheme, e.g. 'gimp20-my-pack-of-scripts'. Requires a proper build

Well, you actually reported a different problem. And we fixed that.

Hello devs!, as you can see I have reported this problem since 16 march 2007
can someone please confirm?
For Sven: the screenshot: http://www.ciampix.net/color2alpha.png
shows that the first 2 rows are translated, from 3 to 5 are in english,
and all the rest is translated. This is more or less th

The screenshot should refer to the Layers -> Transparency submenu.
Cheers.

This string is marked for translation, it's in POTFILES and it even
seems to be translated to italian. What exactly is the screenshot
showing?

Hi,
The file was missing from po-script-fu/POTFILES.in
All files containing translatable strings need to be listed there,
so it's not your fault.
I've added it now, just svn update

What happens if you regenerate .pot file and run 'msgmerge -Uv your.po
reference.pot'? The easiest way to do it is to run 'make update-po'.

Hi, I'm not a real programmer/developer, I'm a translator, the italian GIMP
translation team leader. In the hope to give the best translation possible
of GIMP I usually compile it from cvs/svn to see really where a tranlation
string is in the program menus and what it really means.
Now the proble

When I set up Czech keyboard in ISO 8859-2 encoding in X (I can write
czech letters in xterm) and run GIMP, make new image, text tool, filter
fonts to get only the 8859-2 ones and try to write Czech chars into the
text line, they are ignored.
If I don't filter it, it works.

I have never seen "de-DE" being used anywhere, not even in XML files. A

just a nitpick, that should have been "de-DE" etc. (I hope the next xml
revision will allow the much better three-letter-iso-639 codes).

Hi,
I think the mails on the list show that there is a lot of confusion about
how intltool (former xml-i18n-tools) works and how it can be used for our
purposes. We seem to agree that a simple XML format for the tips would be
nice and extensible enough for future additions. What remains is the
