Vertimus can get the messages from damned-lies, although releases.xml.in
parsing is missing. Maybe part of the Vertimus code could be used to
create such a command-line tool?

Our team translated 32% of the GNOME 2.22 documenation. During the 2.22
cycle we will continue to translate it, taking care of committing to
trunk too.
Maybe teams with low interface translation should do that for the GUI.

IMHO it's best to let translators decide whether to overwrite them or
not. Not every translator understand branching, but every team has one
or more people familiar with version control to manage that. Thanks

AFAIK, it doesn't. When a module branches, the gnome-2-18 branch keeps
the string freeze and the trunk is free.

Translators and documenters: if you have a working copy of orca trunk,
you may switch to branch 2-18 without copying it or checking it out
again. Just go to your equivalent of ~/linux/svn/orca and type:
