chorappai. English name needs to be corrected as *chorapine*.
*ചോരപ്പൈൻ*, here *ചോര chora* means blood and *പ്പൈൻ pine* is *pine* tree.

*kan-duh-LEE-uh* -- from Malabar name of the plant, *kantal* (*കണ്ടൽ)*
