Carliss, If I understand you correctly, the search you are referring to is a search within the program looking to see if any of your contacts are online and then updating the status on all of them such as Offline, Busy or Away from keyboard. It's just trying to locate the people in your

The way I use the contact search is, while in the contact list, type in the first few characters of a contacts name, but don't press enter. Now arrow down and it should show you the contacts that meet that search criteria. To get out of the search, up arrow to the edit field for the search and
