Hi everyone,
Sometime ago, I wrote a very knowledgeable friend about using disc clean up.
I gave him the following information.
I am running Windows 7, 64 bit. I did a disc clean up. All of the items in
the list were checked.
When I used some programs, I found them a little slower to re

Okay, thanks. Maybe I'll try that tomorrow when I have sighted assistance

Well, that would make sense because I have a wireless keyboard that had a
button to change. But I haven't found one.
Maybe I can have a sighted person look at the keys. Would make sense though.

The other night I posted I kind of figured how to do it but I will just have
your notes guide me, so I will not have to figure it out lol. Thanks, though
for the notes and the help, its appreciated.

Hi Sarah,
I don't know if you have a special key to change from multimedia to normal
function keys, but it can not hurt to try to find the key in case you have
it on your keyboard.
Usually a key that changes the function keys mode is on the upper right of
the keyboard. It toggles between t
When I googled 'unlock function' one of the alternatives was to use
shift-f11. that didn't work for me. But the mobility center
did. It isn't accessible on my computer with JAWS. but at least it
isn't the bios.

Just a simple question...
Don't you have a keyboard button that can change function keys from
multimedia to normal function keys without going into the BIOS???
Try to play with the keyboard, specially on the upper right side, and
hopefully will find a key that will change the mode to normal
When you get into the speach and sounds then it is the same instructions
that I wrote.
You need the sounds of the door knocking once and twice before you begin on
your computer.
I have the door knocking once if the box is checked, and twice for
unchecked.
I liked how David did it, that is why

As I indicated to you, you will need some sighted assistance to change the

Yeah, I finally found that hardware and sound lastnight but there was
nothing to change the function key as you are saying. So I'm guessing Bios
is the only way to do it.

Thanks, but I have a dell. Not an HP and I don't know that I'm comfortable

But, I guess that seems to be the only way.

Sarah,
I really think that people are telling you something that doesn't apply on
your HP computer. Here is the info I referenced a couple days ago, and the
link to the HP support site is below that. You'll need somebody to read the
screen when you go into the Bios settings to change this.
Hey Kimsam,
I'll put this link to the files I have on speach and sound in my drop box
until tomorrow morning.
There is a document that I wrote how I put the sounds on my XP useing jaws
10.
I hope this will help you.
