Are there other pdf readers that work well with Jaws? I find
that Adobe does not always handle columns well.

i've heard of one called Foxit that you might like to try. I don't know
anything about it, except that it's a Firefox add-on for pdf's. Google
will, hopefully, be your friend.

It would seem that the eject option at least for me only applies to flash
drives and not to external hard drives. I don't have anything called
elements either, so my best guess would be to reboot your system when you
wish to disconnect your USB drive.

You mean how does it interact with jaws? it is straight forward and
as accessible as if not more so than Winrar. If you can operate
winrar with jaws, you can do the same with 7-zip.
jaws reads it out of the box without any scripts.
