All this infighting regarding the exchange makes me feel like I'm listening to
a bunch of high schoolers arguing over who gets to be head cheerleader. There
is no cheer in it - Christmas or otherwise. In most groups, it's difficult to
get anyone to volunteer to do anything and now
Postman brought me my card and beautiful, dainty snowflake mounted on red to
show it off, from Mina in Slovenia.

I love Brigitte Bellon's christmas lace books, like Allerlei Geklöppelter
Christbaum-schmuck, Geklöppelter Weihnachtsschmuck, or Neue Weihnachts-
Klöppelmuster. As you might guess, the instructions are in German, but
I find the detailed pictures, patterns and a bit of Googling sufficient
to work

The Christmas Card Exchange starts in Sept or Oct when someone says they are
willing to coordinate it. They collect emails of people who want to
participate, and set up the pairings. The assignments are usually made by the
end of October. Each card is to have some handmade lace on or in it,
I should have written sooner because I received my card from Alice Howell last
week. My card to her is in the mail but my other card to Ayla in New Zealand
has to wait until I get to the post office on Friday, closed tomorrow for
Thanksgiving.

I have volunteered to run the Christmas Card Exchange this year so it is

I, too, think it will be lovely to see the Exchange gifts.
Rather than set up a new page, may I suggest the Arachne Webshots site and
set up a collection in there specifically for these photos (as opposed to
within each individual's collection). We all have the URL for that site.
