Dave,
One of the reasons I suggested that you test is because there are two programs
involved, Legacy and TNG. Whilst my main method of publishing my data is on
websites I do not like TNG, much preferring the Legacy Pedigree pages. What one
needs to consider is not only whether Legacy is

Ron,
For both problems (source details missing, and source fields scrambled), the
test need go no further than the GEDCOM file produced by Legacy. The first
problem is entirely a Legacy bug. The root cause of the second problem is the
GEDCOM standard, although Legacy might be able to mitigate
Anyone know if this is possible?

Update:
I just updated my (Deluxe) build from 7.4.0.30 to 7.4.0.39 and got a different
result. (Somehow I missed or overlooked the notice of a newer build.) The
detail information is once again present in the GEDCOM file and likewise in the
Source Detail fields in the re-imported family file.
Scott,
On the list if someone doesn't answer then usually it is because nobody
knows, or at least nobody knows how to do it. I don't think it can be done,
but didn't answer just in case somebody did.
However, since you are posting in HTML instead of the specified Plain Text

Ward,
As I said, one should always test, and I should have added and make sure one
is using the cirrent version. I was and my source details were exported, but
My Heritage didn't put them in the correct place. No surprise there then!

Scott,
I didn't reply yesterday because I was hoping someone who knew for sure or
could explain it better would answer.
As far as I know, no, you can't do this within Legacy (unless you're replacing
a citation made with the same template). I don't know if Dennis Kowallek's

Connie,
The reason is now clear, he had not updated Legacy!

One of the reasons I had to reboot was because there was an odd window with the

clicked on it the number would change. You could click inside of it and
actually type a message, but you couldn't get the window to go away;

You are quite right, my reply to Dave was in html, like you say, I also

Thanks Ron. I understand everything you say. It has to be exported by the

Dave,
Sorry my first test was on the next-to-latest build. I hope you saw my
'Update' e-mail, which explains that the latest build does export the
detail. The target system might 'hide' such detail, as Legacy does by not
automatically turning on the appropriate
Dave,
As I have said previously, I do not know whether all Source Writer sources
behave in the same way, and I also keep the details to a minimum, especially
for censuses, so I cannot really comment on these. In any event we have
specific English Sources for censuses so they may not behave in
As I may have noted recently, I am finally going through my sources and
