schemata that was popularly used, but Bach was incredibly creative in using it.

I find it odd that Bach's lute music is so contentious. By and
large, it seems that classical guitarists feel more of a need to prove
them to be works intended for lute than us luters. Is it really worth

I don't know how relevant the concept of urtext is in this case. Urtext or
not, there is still no evidence to tie Bach's alleged lute suites to Bach in
his hand and plenty of evidence that these are arrangements or speculation at
best. There's nothing wrong with playing that music on the lute
