I don't know if this is the problem, but I asked this on this list without answer. It seems that linuxdoc don't like table because of the inability of lynx to manage ascii ones on translation (sgml2ascii) tabular tag exists in linuxdoc specifications (ie DTD), but not in documentation. so

seems to have a little bug in lyx 1.04 (sorry, I don't yet upgrade). may be already corrected. example : one uses figures, then want to switche to floats figures. Try to create fugure float and then cut and paste figure in it. So far so good, but impossible to get the caption under the figure.
