I just unzip the epub files into their own folder, then load them
into safari, and read them that way.
Don't think this will work for drm enabled versions, but since I
don't have any of those, it's not possible for me to check.
Just rename the files (or copy them) to a .zip extension, unzip
Hello Jim,
If the epub book is DRM-free, you can use Stanza to read it.
Otherwise, Adobe Digital Editions Preview will read several types of ebooks.

Hi Gang:
What's the best way to read EPUB books on a Mac?
Thanks
There's another ebook reader available from the Mac App Store called Bookol. It
will read DRM-free epub a little better than Stanza will in my experience. It
takes a bit of getting used to, but is a great program.

Zack.

Yeah, I prefer iBooks myself, though Alex on the Mac does make for a better
voice than Samantha any day of the week.

Zack.

Hello Paula,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Kindle books are not accessible on the
iPhone. Nor are they accessible on the Mac. You need one of the speech-enabled
Kindle devices to read them.
Because I live in France and the iBooks Store I can use sells very few books in
English, I
I use either text edit or pages.

Hi Roger,
TextEdit, which comes with OS X by default will read RTF. You might also wish
to try Pages, or Nisus Writer, although the latter are paid products.

No problem. FYI, RTF, like PDF, is native to OS X
