My Insight Internet and Phone both crashed today about 11 am (we don't
have cable TV). A call to customer service turned up a recording: We
are aware there is an outage in your area... Service was just
restored (12:40 pm). I wonder how widespread the outage was...

John - can you provide a link to the Bloomberg article? I was unable to find it
on Bloomberg’s website, and I’d like to share it with my Android-using friends.
Thanks.

Based on the responses you have thus far received here, John, I advise you to
go slow in telling your family, friends, and neighbors about this phenomenon…

I too am interested in this matter, as I haven’t yet upgraded to El Capitan. I
expect that will be harder to do after Sierra comes out.

In Yosemite, I have usually been able to avoid the newer versions of Pages and
Numbers by going to a file’s Get Info, and in the "Open With" box selecting the
iWork ’09 versions of Pages and Numbers. Afterwards that file (and most similar

I used Apple Pay at the Walgreens at Frankfort Ave & Ewing Friday. Wouldn’t
accept it the first few tries. Finally worked on the 3rd or 4th attempt. Don’t
know if it was me holding the phone wrong or the reader, ‘cause I’ve only used
Apple Pay a few times so far.

This same phenomenon has happened to me a few times. Like yours it went away
after I quit and restarted.

Harry - I believe I read somewhere that iOS 11 won’t work on any phone prior to
5s, so that iPhone 5 may need to be replaced (or stick with iOS 10).

Harry - I had the same problem on my iPhone 7 plus. Touch ID worked fairly well
at first but a few months ago it stopped working at all. Recently I deleted my
old prints like you did and it’s been back to working fairly well. I’m keeping
my fingers crossed it doesn’t stop working again…

John - I don’t know why you say CR is down on Apple. Three out of CR’s five
top-rated 13” laptops are Apples, and the four highest rated 15” laptops are
Apples. Seems to me they’re now big on Apple.
