Hi Sarai,
MacKeeper is bad news and is likely the cause of much of the slow down. Alex's
suggestions are great, but don't use Time Machine as you'll likely just bring
portions of MacKeeper back into the mix. Copy the photos and other important
stuff over to an external source, do the
Hi Scott,
As long as you've backed up the spinning HD, replacing it with an SSD is
reasonably painless.
1. Order, or go to a store and purchase an SSD of your choice. Most SSD's
through Amazon, BestBuy etc will let you know if it's Mac compatible. OWC
often sells them with little tool kits
Hi,
I have an old device called the Hollywood Dazzle. Analog in and Firewire out.
You use iMovie to bring the VHS content in, do whatever editing you wish, then
it can be exported or made into a DVD. Still have the device, but haven't used
it in quite a while. The Dazzle makes iMovie think
Alex,
How do I go about replacing the hard drive with an SSd? I need to probably do
that as well.

I'd first grab Malware Bytes, which is free and not, to my knowledge, on the
App Store. Go to www.malwarebytes.org to find the Mac installer for it. Run
that and see what happens.
I'd then either manually copy the important things, or do a Time Machine backup
then manually restore once the OS
Oh man! My dad’s 2011 MBP is messed up! Mackeeper is on it, and won’t go away!
The mac is so darn slow!
I want to reinstall the OS, format the HD and make it like a new computer. I’m
not sure how to do this! I also need to figure out how to backup all his stuff,

I have a Nakamichi Dragon that would be perfect for the job but that’s probably
overkill. If we were geographically closer we could set up a lending

Thanks for your reply Scott; the busy message does come up with other programs,
but not hardly nearest so frequently as it does with mail. In fact, it really
isn't annoying with the other programs because it happens so in frequently.

Thanks so much Sabahattin, I will give all those tips a try for sure!

Well, good to hear that the Ubiquiti gear was accessible, at any rate. I’m not
exactly in love with the idea of a dedicated configuration app, but since Apple
do it, I probably shouldn’t complain, even though I do because it’s just plain
wrong and dammit this is why we have standards. :)
Yes,
Yes, I have seen this, too. It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does,
it’s a little disconcerting. It seems that any past thing that VoiceOver has
said in that session is fair game. I don’t believe it has anything to do with
mouse motion, it just suddenly happens, sometimes in place of
Yeah, I know.
Try avoiding the moving of messages to the Trash inside threads, but outside
(i.e. in the message list). Become familiar with and use the
Command-Option-Delete combination, to delete messages immediately, at greatly
improved speeds. This is permanent so be careful.

Hmm, if the video digitizer device were to show up as just another
camera you could use plain old quicktime to record a movie from that

that. You might find a used Sony DVMC-DA2 Media Converter somewhere for
not a lot.
Okay,
Anybody out there have any experience taking both the audio and video content

would be to use an analog to digital converter where one end has the composite

One thing I’ve found if you have a rotating disk instead of SSD the file system

case with SSD but it often manifested itself that way. Do you notice the busy

May be fixed in El Capitan but depends if your Mac Mini can handle it.

Citrix has both a desktop and zen application mode. In either case you need to
run jaws or Windows eyes both locally and remotely for best results. Feel free
to contact me for more details.

I created a signature in the “All Signatures” category and now want to activate

drag and drop this signature onto the desired account, but how is this
accomplished when one is totally blind?

I am still using Yosemite on a Mac Mini; one annoyance that manifests far too
frequently is the “Mail Busy” message. I find that I can disable VoiceOver and
re-enable Voiceover and that resolves the issue quite effectively. But this is
a “pain in the gluteus maxim us.” Does anybody have any
Mary, major appreciation for that pointer. I do have office and an office 365

that’s a good sign. I feel
Scott,
If you have office for windows, you can get window eyes free. No dollars. Also,
I am not sure about Citrix and how much it might change. I remember years ago
when window eyes started supporting it. That was a long time ago, and since I

It looks like from some googling that window eyes also supports Citrix
specifically virtual desktop applications which is what I need. Might have to
give WE a try. Wish I knew which way to go before I start throwing out dollars
but that’s ok. Always good to have more tools.

Hi,
It sounds like that scenario wouldn't work in my world. The Citrix server is
off-site and does not have any screen reader software on it, nor do I believe
that they'd consider going that direction. So far, I just use it for AD things
and we've tunnelled into the Server for me to use JFW
jJFW redirects the audio from the far end machine over the remote session back
to your local machine to be spoken so you can tell what you’re doing.
Basically, that’s how I understand it works.
Does seem possible from some googling but doesn’t necessarily look easy.

Hi,
I'd be interested in this sort of thing as well. for the moment, I've just
given up on Citrix. From my Mac, all the initial connection stuff through the
browser is fine, links to the various apps and shared items is all great, but

Hi list, hoping some of the folks out there have run in to this and can provide
some pointers. I am considering taking a new job and one of the requirements

It is however useable with windows.
