Hi Tim,
This model of mini is no issue getting to the ram,
You turn the machine upside down and twist the base off with out mine in front
of me I think it’s anti clockwise and it comes loose and then you can remove it
Then the ram is there on the base / top of the device when it’s upside down.

Hi,
I'm not aware of any way of doing this manually. The iPhone will do this
automatically though if you use the Optimize feature while iCloud Photo Library
is enabled.

Hi,
Sometimes I get so used to using the keyboard shortcuts that I'm accustomed to,
that I don't notice that there are new ones in the menus. I found this one the
other day. It's cmd-ctrl-q. This shortcut locks your Mac screen so that you
need to enter the password before getting at your De
Hi,
I doubt that Google Photos would do any auto-labelling for you. If you've been
using VO labelling, then, yes, they would be gone when the photo was removed.
The AI in the iPhone can recognize some aspects of photos, as I expect Google
does as well. It's only some though, so can't be used
Hi,
Some of that can depend on drive speed as the system is determining the number
of files and folders, and calculating size. If that's not the case, go into VO
Utility, and make sure that the mouse cursor ignores the VO cursor in the
Navigation category. That may stop the refreshing behavio
Hi,
If that is just the Documents folder, then that is a huge amount of storage
used for documents. I suggest you get to your Desktop, then press cmd-shift-h
to open the Home directory. For each of the folders visible in that directory,
do a cmd-i to Get Info and note the size of each. Repor
Hi,
Yes, the size should decrease if that is the issue, or part of it. No, you
can't delete them manually, but you can turn this feature off. I wouldn't
recommend it though.

I thought I would also look at the About This Mac, Storage. As I

that? I leave my TM drive disconnected during the week so will compare

Hi tim again:
sorry for asking but if i will use the google photos, will it label the photos

Personally I would also enjoy a way to name photos that are already stored on
my iPhone. Much of my job involves content curation which requires me to be
aware of what photos are and I find that a tough task with iPHone since I can’t
rename the photos.

As I said, if I had a dead one on which to practice, I'd try it on the

Oh, the Mini and iMac are definitely upgradable, but with things so
close together in the box, one wrong move could change everything. I'm
happy to pay the hundred bucks or so for someone's time to do it for me.

Hi,
Snapshots can still be taken even with automatic backups turned off. Because
Time Machine is enabled, your Mac is constantly taking snapshots of the system
so that when the backup drive is available, it is a quicker process. This
also keeps the backup process intact and you are able to g

In this case with the late 2012 Mini the RAM is actually the easy one to get
to. For the RAM you basically just remove the bottom cover and there it is, in
fact Apple actually still marketed the late 2012 Mini as having user upgradable
RAM, which is something they don’t do at all anymore the

I use iCloud Photos and have access to over 45,000 photos on my iPhone, but
they only use up about 4.5 GB of space on the iPhone. With iCloud Photo

optimizes the photo library so that what is on the iPhone uses mu

Firstly, I don't have a set of Torx screwdrivers. Secondly, the way I
hear it described, there are lots of short and delicate wires that I'm

I have rad good things about the google photos app for doing this. I understand
that Google will run its routines on the photos and try to automatically
determine where they were taken and who is in them. So if you don’t trust
