If it's because the server saves a copy in the mailbox for sent messages 
then there might be a server setting to prevent this.


Since you cannot see both copies in webmail then I also suspect that 
there is a synchronization issue. Check that the mailbox for sent 
messages is online when you look at it under SOURCES in the mailbox 
list. (It's not online if it's greyed out.)

Manually: Select the account under SOURCES, enable the “Size” 
message list column, and click on the header of the column to sort by 
size.


Smart folder: This is not easily done because MailMate cannot be told to 
find emails with a (virtual) header value larger/smaller than some 
integer value. A workaround would be a custom bundle command which, 
e.g., tagged incoming emails larger than X MB. And then have a smart 
folder showing emails with this tag.

This might actually work, but note that you cannot prevent Google from 
saving a copy of sent messages in account B while MailMate would save 
them in account A (if the email address is provided for Email 
Address(es) of account A).


You should check [this 
setting](https://manual.mailmate-app.com/hidden_preferences#alternative-smtp-server) 
although I don't think it'll do exactly what you need it to do. You'll 
probably have to manually switch SMTP when switching between sending 
from the two email addresses.


My hunch is that option 1 is the way to go. I’ll add that I tried 
implementing option 1 several times, and MailMate crashed every time 
when I clicked the **Apply** button in the IMAP Account Settings 
dialog.


Could you send me some step-by-step instructions to reproduce this (off 
list) and a crash report. Then I'll see if I can reproduce/fix it.

If you did it with the General preferences pane then you should be able 
to just disable the “Custom Location” setting. Or choose a different 
location.


The `com.freron.MailMate` folder is only used when the 
`Messages(.noindex)` folder is not in its default location:


~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/

Interesting thing: this behaviour only applies to smart mailboxes that 
**don't** have any mailboxes nested inside. If I have a Smart Mailbox 
called Private and there I have a nested Smart Mailbox called Plane 
Tickets, then I'll only be able to see the recent Plane Ticket 
messages, but the Private mailbox will show everything, including 
messages from years ago.

I cannot think of a feature/bug which would cause this behavior. Try 
sending me the following file *off list* and tell me for which mailboxes 
you see this issue:


/Users//Library/Application Support/MailMate/Mailboxes.plist

Hmm, that should only happen if you have explicitly set it on these 
mailboxes in the past. Only “unset” means that MailMate uses the 
value of the parent mailbox.


I guess there should/could be a “Use Default” menu item to reset a 
mailbox to the “unset” state.


If I select multiple mailboxes, the menu item to set the 
synchronization schedule is grayed out.


That's (also) a missing feature.

That's correct. I don't think custom key bindings work either.

I also don’t see those commands in any of the menus; in any case 
putting them in the toolbar would be much handier.

The best you can do for now is probably to first use “Message ▸ Go 
to Source” (⌥⌘S).

Hello,

No, it's on the server that I see the second copy of the sent email. A
little later it also shows up in MailMate.

I can't find any setting in outlook.com to that effect, and even if there
were such a setting, it would be not of a lot of use. Because when I have
to use the webmail, the sent mail would not be saved. Isn't there a
settings in MailMate where I can turn off saving sent mails per account?

Can't you just set account B's email address as an additional address on 
account B and choose to send from it when necessary?

Email Address(es)
A comma-separated list of email addresses used for the account. Note 
that you should only add the addresses which you often use for new 
messages. These addresses are shown in a popup in the composer window, 
but the popup also allows you to customize the address. When replying to 
a message, MailMate automatically tries to use the email address for 
which the original message was sent. This does not require the address 
to be explicitly declared in the settings, but it does require an 
“Address Pattern” as described below.


If needed, an alternative name can be assigned to each address. Here is 
an example: “addre...@example.com, Other Name 
”. The first address would be paired with the 
full name specified for the account, but the other address would be 
paired with the explicitly given alternative name: “Other Name”.
