We are looking for recommendations (or flames) for Planning Office Software
for county government. We're looking for something to track permits,
applications, meeting agendas, etc.
Thanks, Rich

AutoCAD Map has three options for bringing attribute data in:
1. Ignore it (the default)
2. As 'Object Data'
3. As 'SQL Table'
'Object data' is an internal format stored in the drawing file. 'SQL Table'
leaves database management up to you (like if you want to use Oracle,
Access, dBase, etc.).

It's interesting how we all interpret things differently. My read was that
ArcView might be starting to catch up with MI: projection on the fly,
support for annotations, etc...

I can't help with the banding, I think that's just losuy DEMs, but I was
able to clean up the seams. I forget the exact steps but I think this
should get you started.
Splice all the DEMs you need to use into a single VM grid, and then resize
the grid to a much larger cell size. (Maybe 3 or 4 time

I recommend using the "Drag Map Window" tool to put maps into MS Office
products. That's what it's there for, and it works fairly well.

Maybe I'm throwing on too late here, but producing maps at a specific scale
can be accomplished in 30 seconds by anyone possessing basic arithmetic
skills:
1. Assuming you have a map window open that shows generally the area you

You are correct; MI does not read the georeferencing info in the ECW file.
I have a free utility on my web site (URL below) that will create TAB files
from TFW files. Unfortunately, the TAB file will reference a *.TIF file

If you have a ESRI format world file (a .SDW file) associated with your
MrSID file, then you can use an MBX that I wrote. It's free, and you can
download it from my web site (see signature below).

I've had better results saving the acad drawing out as an R13 DXF and then
using the MapInfo Table Import function. I haven't used Universal

I'm not sure if this will help, but here goes; rather than use On Error to

many matching records there are, and if there are none, the handle the

I have a TIFF that has stopped displaying, apparently after I installed the

displays correctly on un-patched versions of MI 5.5. Has anyone else
experienced this? Have you found a workaround?

In the US, real property distances and areas are calculated with Cartesian
