From what a gathered from a friend who was a flight doctor in the air force, U-2s fly at around 70,000 feet. Very hairy flying, too -- it wasn't uncommon to make a banking turn and have one wing shake in an incipient low speed stall while the other was shaking with incipient shock stall.
