2017-11-05 Thread G Mann via Mercedes
Organic apple cider vinegar alone is hard to take. Many can't tolerate the
taste.
Try this:
One half teaspoon of baking soda in a glass.
add
One shot glass of vinegar.. shake the bottle first to get the "mother"
mixed since it settles to bottom and is an important element of why OACV
has benefit.
As soon as it fizzes from the acid base mix of the OACV / baking soda mix-
add
8 Oz of chilled water and stir well...

I prefer adding ice cubes and sipping... your choice on that what you
will have is a nicely carbonated drink with a slight "lemon aid" taste that
is rather pleasant.

You will get the full benefit of the OACV and the baking soda buffers the
unpleasant taste component. Reports are, the baking soda helps the body
process the OACV for even better effect at absorption of the beneficial
elements.

two hours to get home.  I’m seriously considering riding them on occasion, as I
can get a monthly pass for $16.00 as a County employee.  I have to drive about
a mile to the “park & ride”, but it wouldn’t add significantly to my current
commute time and it would save a boatload on expenses, like gas and tolls. I
pay $3.50/day in round trip tolls alone.  I’m getting about 23 mpg out of the
W210 wagon, but if I factor in wear and tear I would be well ahead of the game.

They have wifi on the busses, too.  I like the idea of someone else driving.

Re: [MBZ] Former W126/350SDL

2017-11-05 Thread Dan Penoff via Mercedes
The problems I used to have with this express line were twofold:

1.) Too many stops. The run used to have about five stops. As a result of
this, it took forever for it to get from Point A to Point B. That and the
route they used was convoluted. That meant it took a good 90 minutes for the
bus to make it from the start of the route (near my house) to downtown.

2.) Due to #1 and my being at the end of the route, this meant I was first one
on in the morning, and last one off in the afternoon. This made me subject to
riding the whole route, i.e., the full 90 minutes each way.

Right now when driving I leave my house at or around 6:00 am to arrive at my
office by 6:30 am. I leave at 3:30 pm and get home around 4:00 pm, give or
take a few minutes depending on traffic. With the new bus route, the bus
departs a Park & Ride that’s about a five minute drive from my house about 5:50
am or if I go to another stop a similar distance around 6:00 am. I get
downtown by 6:40 am. The return leaves around 3:45 pm and puts me at the first
stop around 4:30 pm.

The whole thing adds maybe a half hour to my commute time, but it’s cheaper and
I don’t have to drive.

When I lived in Houston, a very car-centric town, mass transit was viewed in
the same way as liberals were. But where I worked they offered a similar deal,
and parking fees were waived, for a buss pass. I worked with a guy who had
about an hour commute in awful traffic. He decided to try the express bus and
absolutely loved it from the first day. Picked him up close to his home,
dropped him off at the front door to our building, opposite in the afternoon.
He got to work rested, no agita, read the paper and books etc. saved money and
his mental health. All around a great deal.

Re: [MBZ] Former W126/350SDL

2017-11-04 Thread Dan Penoff via Mercedes
I’ll drive it to work a couple days a week, I doubt I would go totally public
transportation. There are times I want to run errands at lunch or after work,
so I would drive on those days. I would drive it on the weekends as well.

Just giving it some thought now that the scheduling idiots made some sense out
of the express routes and I discovered that the normally $80/month pass only
costs me $16.00/month.

The routes that previously served my neighborhood used to take over an hour to
get downtown each way. That’s a 30 minute drive at the times I commute. I
would end up being on a bus for nearly three hours a day with their old
routes/stops. Now they’ve pared the route down to two stops, which means they
leave around 6:00 am and drop me downtown around 6:40. I can now leave the
office around 3:40 and be back at the park & ride by 4:30.

I could do that.

If you do a one mile commute, use a bicycle or take a long drive every weekend
to get the car good and hot.

Nope. The only state in the Union I’ve never set foot on, and I don’t care to.
This time of year I might consider going to SE Wisconsin for some brats, deer
sausage and colorful trees.

You’ve got a new neighbor, Andrew. Not sure how far you are from Laurel, but
the car is there now. Watch out for strangers in auto parts store parking lots
offering you filters….

None. Down to the minimums. Anything below what is currently in place would
cause the transportation situation to go into criticality.

Our local public transit has finally gotten it’s act together and they are now
running express busses downtown and back from my neighborhood that don’t take
two hours to get home.

Hmm.
