OK, I have a question for the cat shrinks out there (there must be at
least 2 or 3 PhDs in feline psychology on the list).

My black 16.5 pound Bombay (he has lost 2 lbs. since moving into his new4-
level home) wakes me up every morning to feed him. He used to do this
between 6 and 6:30 AM, but after daylight savings time he now starts
meowing between 5 and 5:30. He cannot be silenced, so I must get out of
bed and fed him.

What I don't understand is why he now does this an hour earlier. He is fed
at the same time every evening. If daylight triggers his hunger, wouldn'tg
he be meowing an hour LATER than before the switch to DST?

Find a vet who sells Hills/Science Diet/Prescription cat food. The girl
at the desk might be able to help you pick a non-fattening dry food you
can leave out 24/7 for kitty to eat when he's hungry. Next time you
take kitty to the vet, explain your problem and he/she can set you up on
the best complete diet for kitty.
It's a little more expensive, but cheaper in the long run since kitty
will be healthier.

You just need more imagination.
You need to rig up some sort of auto release setup outside the bedroom.
When the cat starts making noises, hit a button that dumps some food and
rings a little bell.

Pavlov's sort of thing.
In no time flat, he should be trained to go eat where and when the bell
dings.

Maybe even set it up with an clock trigger so it happens just before he
would normally start to make noise so that he does not wake you up?

BLM trying to sell branded cattle illegally by crossing state lines.
That would land anyone else in prison.

See this quoted letter:

Begin quote:
A Rancher TELLS ALL:
B Hunt wrote:
I live in SW Utah. I grew up on a ranch less than 100 miles from the
Bundy's ranch. My father knows Cliven Bundy. I know Cliven's son
Ryan. This is not a hoax, it is an action of force by the BLM.
The BLM was going to sell the cattle at one of the smallest cattle
markets in Utah. No cattle markets in Nevada would take the cattle
without a properly signed brand inspection (which the BLM cannot
obtain without Cliven Bundy's signature). The BLM paid the owner of
the Utah cattle market $300,000 to do the sale ('R' Livestock
Connection in Monroe, Utah, owned by one Scott G. Robbins, according
to the Utah Business Entity Search). Utah Governor Herbert stepped in
and forbid them from bringing the cattle into Utah without the
legally required health and brand inspections (which again, require
Bundy's signature) and that no feral cattle are allowed to be
imported at all (per Utah statute). Because Bundy claims ownership
over maybe 350-500 head of branded cattle, the other 500-700
estimated head of cattle would all be considered feral. BLM
officially backed off, but we suspect they are still secretly
shipping them through Utah without any permission to do so, to
private buyers in Colorado. The contract cowboys that the BLM hired
to do the roundup are from Sampson Livestock in Meadow, Utah
(traitors one and all).
From what I understand, Cliven Bundy owns both the Water Rights and
Grazing Rights to all of the land where his cattle run. If Bundy
failed to use them, the Grazing Rights would revert to the BLM and
would be retired, while the Water Rights would revert to the State of
Nevada, likely to be sold to the highest bidder (which would probably
be a bidding war between mineral companies that are behind this
action with the BLM and the City of Las Vegas which is thirsty for
water and has had multiple attempts to buy water-through eminent
domain from Utah farmers and ranchers-from Utah, which were all
blocked by the Utah Legislature and Utah Governor Herbert). Chances
are, the BLM has already filed a claim on the water rights so that
they can sell to the highest bidder (instead of the state) and are
trying to get the cattle off to show that Bundy cannot use the water
beneficially (much like what the US Forest Service and BLM both tried
to do to Wayne Hage).
Now, for Cliven Bundy, he's not fighting this for his cattle or his
own livelihood. He recognizes that he will probably die before this
fight is over. He has said multiple times that he is fighting this to
wake people up about the tyranny of the Federal Government and also
to help wake up the western states about getting the rights to their
own land back from the federal government, which has repeatedly shut
down ranchers and closed off land. (MO = 1st, get all the ranchers,
farmers, Native Americans, and foresters that use the land for
positive, sustainable production off of the land; 2nd, grab up all
the resources; 3rd, close off the lands to public access including
camping, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, boating,
shooting, etc; 4th, sell off the resources to the highest bidder
regardless of what that will do to the land, the local environment,
or the economy; 5th, collect royalties on the resources in
perpetuity; 6th, reduce and eliminate all SLS and PILT payments to
the states, impoverishing them beyond belief.)
Anyway, thanks for posting about this. It is important for us to be
able to raise the appropriate resistance.

Just watch 40 seconds of Lame Stream Media reporting on the end of the
great standoff. One of the items reported was that several state
legislatures are already submitting bills to keep exactly this sort of
thing from being repeated.

As reported here by another poster, some indication is given that this may
involve Senator Reid, via some convoluted use of a government agency, to
support something which he is a stakeholder in. Just like any other
citizen, Reid, is innocent until proven guilty, however, charges are
already being made which could result in proof of such guilt.

Government land and public owned are the same thing. Held it
trust by the Federal Government for public use.

That does NOT mean you can do whatever you want with it because you
are part of the public, a point that many people choose to confuse.
The Interior Department sets rules for use, including no access if
appropriate.

In this case Mr. Bundy is refusing to obey the BLM restrictions on
land use, and has refused to pay lease payments, which are REQUIRED BY
LAW in order to run cattle on the land. This has been true since
before he was there, it was never free range in that you could do
anything you wanted.

Uhhh, no Chuck Connors, please.

I apologize if I came on too strong, as it was not my intent. I was more
concerned with those who might attempt to push the envelope, hence my desire to
draw a virtual line in the sand. There are those who would continue to beat
the proverbial dead horse, if allowed, and there's simply nothing productive
about that. If things are clearly stated there can be no basis for claims of
I didn't understand or I was just making one last comment.

As we used to warn our children when they would attempt to argue semantics as
all children do, Do you want to be most right?

We need to have a point where we can move forward without concern for things to
get dicey as they have previously, that's all.

BLM voided the lease and Mr. Bundy has refused to pay his prior lease
payments for quite a few years OR remove his cattle. He is now
claiming the STATE can allow him to use his land because the Federal

As I said, unless he has a land grant from the King of Spain via the
Treaty of Guadalupe y Hildalgo, he's trespassing on BLM land without
permission. In essence he is squatting on someone else's property and
claiming it as his.

He's lost his court battles twice, at least, and is now recruiting
fringe nuts to start a war with Federal agents doing their job.

BLM has the right to grant and revoke land use leases as they see fit
and regulate the use of the land. The land is the propery of the US
Goverment and his challange to the BLM regulations has failed in court
twice -- he is simply taking the law into his own hands and raising a
private army to steal.

Re: [MBZ] Gummit corruption

2014-04-12 Thread G Mann
Since we are re-trying this case in the High Court of Public Opinion...
Please show cause for BLM to cancel the long standing lease with Mr. Bundy.

Further, show cause for the use of armed violence against his children and
cruel treatment of the animals grazing on the land, which is Open Range,
Cows can't read and don't care about land ownership [there is ample
historical evidence of this]. They simply follow food.

While your claim that the land is public land has standing, if you have
ever eaten western ranch beef, which is very likely, said beef was raised
eating grass from BLM public land which kept the cost per pound of
production of that beef low enough for you to afford to eat beef. Thus, by
tacit approval by eating beef, you contribute to the root premise that use
of public lands to graze beef is valid and highest use of said lands, and
not theft. That principle is further supported by published BLM policy
and the continuation of thousands of leases. Question must be raised to why
this Mr. Bundy was selected to have his long standing lease canceled. Was
good cause shown by BLM? If the lease was valid, was the cancellation
valid?

Consider this premise. You have a cow. You neighbor has grass on his land
and no fence. Your cow goes to eat said grass. You send your sons to go
recover the cow. The neighbor [federal agents in this instance] shoot your
son with a taser and tie him up. The neighbor then hires armed men to keep
you or your family from recovering the cow. Your neighbor then drives the
cow, with her newborn calf, in high heat, without water, with a helicopter,
until said cow dies from exhaustion. Make that not one cow, but many cows,
which you rely upon for your income, your families income and well being.

Getting comfortable yet? Make you love your government yet? Is this
neighbor acting in good faith?
If it were your children being shot and abused and bound and your business
assets being driven to death by exhaustion, what would be your response?
Would you object? If so, how?

I wager freely the true dollar cost of 20 years lease of this piece of BLM
land is many times less than one trip to Spain or Africa by the first lady
and her entourage. Or any of the other many vacations and outings... by
comparative.. is this use of public property and funds also theft? Where
is the standard of judgement drawn?

Respectfully,
Grant..

Re: [MBZ] Gummit corruption

2014-04-12 Thread Mitch Haley
There are so many versions of the Bundy story floating around, it's hard to know
what elements are true.
I've seen mention of tortoises, and claims that said tortoises are so highly
endangered that BLM is euthanizing the surplus population. I've seen claims that
the BLM ordered Bundy to reduce his herd size to 150, spread across 158,000 acres.

The government's story is easy to find, just read any MSM news story on the
topic.

The family's claims are summed up below.

Post from Shiree Bundy:

I have had people ask me to explain my dad’s stance on this BLM fight. Here it
is in as simple of terms as I can explain it. There is so much to it, but here
it [i]s in a nut shell.

My great grandpa bought the rights to the Bunkerville allotment back in 1887
around there. Then he sold them to my grandpa who then turned them over to my
dad in 1972. These men bought and paid for their rights to the range and also
built waters, fences and roads to assure the survival of their cattle, all with
their own money, not with tax dollars.

These rights to the land use is called preemptive rights. Some where down the
line, to keep the cows from over grazing, came the bureau of land management.
They were supposed to assist the ranchers in the management of their ranges
while the ranchers paid a yearly allotment which was to be use to pay the BLM
wages and to help with repairs and improvements of the ranches.

My dad did pay his grazing fees for years to the BLM until they were no longer
using his fees to help him and to improve. Instead they began using these
money’s against the ranchers. They bought all the rest of the ranchers in the
area out with they’re own grazing fees. When they offered to buy my dad out for
a penance he said no thanks and then fired them because they weren’t doing their
job. He quit paying the BLM but, tried giving his grazing fees to the county,
which they turned down.

So my dad just went on running his ranch and making his own improvements with
his own equipment and his own money, not taxes. In essence the BLM was managing
my dad out of business. Well when buying him out didn’t work, they used the
endangered species card. You’ve already heard about the desert tortoise.

Well that didn’t work either, so then began the threats and the court orders,
which my dad has proven to be unlawful for all these years. Now their desperate.
It’s come down to buying the brand inspector off and threatening the County
Sheriff. Everything their doing at this point is illegal and totally against the
constitution of the United States of America.

Now you may be saying,” how sad, but what does this have to do with me?” Well,
I’ll tell you. They will get rid of Cliven Bundy, the last man standing on the
Bunkerville allotment and then they will close all the roads so no one can ever
go on it again. Next, it’s Utah’s turn. Mark my words, Utah is next. Then
there’s the issue of the cattle that are at this moment being stolen. See even
if dad hasn’t paid them, those cattle do belong to him.

Regardless where they are they are my fathers property. His herd has been part
of that range for over a hundred years, long before the BLM even existed. Now
the Feds think they can just come in and remove them and sell them without a
legal brand inspection or without my dad’s signature on it. They think they can
take them over two boarders, which is illegal, ask any trucker. Then they plan
to take them to the Richfeild Auction and sell them. All with our tax money.
They have paid off the contract cowboys and the auction owner as well as the
Nevada brand inspector with our tax dollars. See how slick they are? Well, this
is it in a nut shell. Thanks”

No one is disputing his use of his OWN land, which is totally and
completely separate from the BLM lands his cattle are being removed
from. The land is question is NOT state land, it was Federal land
long before Nevada became a state in what, 1917? and the Federal
Goverment did NOT release it to the the state, any more than is the
case for any other Federal Reservations in the west (a very large part
of the territory west of the Mississippi, by the way).

The fact that he has had permission to range cattle on it in the past
has no bearing in any way, shape, or form on the current situation, he
has had a lease from the Federal government IN THE PAST that he now
refuses to pay, thus voiding the contract. Use of Federal land for
grazing does NOT confer or infer ownership of said land.

Well.. I haven't heard that on the Lame Stream Media.. have I?

Thanks for posting that. btw. Certainly I would expect the daughter to
know, in full, her families history of use of the land, prior contracts for
the land dating back to 1887 would have to have been with the federal
government and that would give them legal standing, it would seem.

Seems pretty clear this is a complicated bit of business with the little
guy against the big government, and it appears the government does not
come to court with clear clean hands. Albeit, that needs clarification,
not bullets and force.
If we are a country of law, then government must also respect those laws.

My many thanks to all other members on this board for their civil and
careful discussion. I believe as a citizen, and a ranch owner, I hold two
bits of interest in the outcome. Both are focused on governments use of
force, either by physical force or by ms-application of agency charters
through the legal system.

In my personal view, it is a case of Common man fights City Hall
Apparently, I am not alone in this view.

claims that the BLM ordered Bundy to reduce his herd size to 150, spread
 across 158,000 acres.

The government's story is easy to find, just read any MSM news story on
 the topic.

The family's claims are summed up below.

 Post from Shiree Bundy:

I have had people ask me to explain my dad's stance on this BLM fight.
Here it is in as simple of terms as I can explain it. There is so much to
it, but here it [i]s in a nut shell.

My great grandpa bought the rights to the Bunkerville allotment back in
1887 around there. Then he sold them to my grandpa who then turned them
over to my dad in 1972. These men bought and paid for their rights to the
range and also built waters, fences and roads to assure the survival of
their cattle, all with their own money, not with tax dollars.

These rights to the land use is called preemptive rights. Some where down
the line, to keep the cows from over grazing, came the bureau of land
management. They were supposed to assist the ranchers in the management of
their ranges while the ranchers paid a yearly allotment which was to be use
to pay the BLM wages and to help with repairs and improvements of the
 ranches.

My dad did pay his grazing fees for years to the BLM until they were no
longer using his fees to help him and to improve. Instead they began using
these money's against the ranchers. They bought all the rest of the
ranchers in the area out with they're own grazing fees. When they offered
to buy my dad out for a penance he said no thanks and then fired them
because they weren't doing their job. He quit paying the BLM but, tried
giving his grazing fees to the county, which they turned down.

So my dad just went on running his ranch and making his own improvements
with his own equipment and his own money, not taxes. In essence the BLM was
managing my dad out of business. Well when buying him out didn't work, they
used the endangered species card. You've already heard about the desert
 tortoise.

Well that didn't work either, so then began the threats and the court
orders, which my dad has proven to be unlawful for all these years. Now
their desperate. It's come down to buying the brand inspector off and
threatening the County Sheriff. Everything their doing at this point is
illegal and totally against the constitution of the United States of
 America.

Now you may be saying, how sad, but what does this have to do with me?
Well, I'll tell you. They will get rid of Cliven Bundy, the last man
standing on the Bunkerville allotment and then they will close all the
roads so no one can ever go on it again. Next, it's Utah's turn. Mark my
words, Utah is next. Then there's the issue of the cattle that are at this
moment being stolen. See even if dad hasn't paid them, those cattle do
 belong to him.

Regardless where they are they are my fathers property. His herd has been
part of that range for over a hundred years, long before the BLM even
existed. Now the Feds think they can just come in and remove them and sell
them without a legal brand inspection or without my dad's signature on it.
They think they can take them over two boarders, which is illegal, ask any
trucker. Then they plan to take them to the Richfeild Auction and sell
them. All with our tax money. They have paid off the contract cowboys and
the auction owner as well as the Nevada brand inspector with our tax
dollars. See how slick they are? Well, this is it in a nut shell. Thanks

True, but DOD and DOE land is a small percentage of the Federal land in NV.

Re: [MBZ] Gummit corruption

2014-04-12 Thread Dieselhead

Respectfully,
Grant..

Question must be raised to why
this Mr. Bundy was selected to have his long standing lease canceled. Was
good cause shown by BLM? If the lease was valid, was the cancellation

valid?

The answer is: Dirty harry wants the land for his chicom general
buddies. Dirty harry needs to be recalled/replaced. At least don't
vote for jackass senators so dirty harry won't be in a senate
leadership position.

Re: [MBZ] Gummit corruption

Whooo there partner. ease up a moment... This family has been
ranching that same area since before the Civil War. Almost all ranches in
the west are part patent land [private title land] and part BLM lease land.
To those of the Eastern persuasion this may sound strange.. but to those of
us who live in the great west, it is quite normal.

Open grazing rights are a long standing tradition for BLM land use. The BLM
encourages such arrangements and consumes entire forests to make enough
paper to write all the paperwork associated with doing business with a
large government agency such as BLM. Much of the land managed by BLM is to
poor to ever support development and the average use of grazing cows is
measured in cows per square mile [limited by BLM regulations, btw.] and in
aggregate something on the order of 2 cows per square mile is average
[unlike your green pastures in the East with lots of rain and grass].

Passions are running very high on this particular issue largely because the
government agency has used armed thugs who have harmed both people and
innocent cows by their direct actions.

I urge you to have a close and complete look at the actual status of this
families BLM lease, compared with other BLM leases for cattle grazing,
before coming out with your six guns blazing. I believe a closer
inspection of the events, both historical and current, will give a much
different view than what is being reported.

It appears to me, from the information I have, the Bundy family has a BLM
lease and now BLM has decided [or some other government agency as yet not
fully identified] to attempt to break said lease to save a rare tortise
which may not need saving.. or if it does may not truly be impacted by 2
cows per square mile grazing [supposed average in the West on BLM land] If
there were no lease, why would the government need to break the lease by
imposing the rare endangered critter ruse? It does give cause to
question, does it not?
