Of all the Mercedes wheels, I find the 15 slot design most pleasing.
I like the steel wheels (or better yet, the light alloy wheels like
my 240D came with) and the hubcaps. It can be a pain to find a
replacement hubcap or repaint the centers, but they are very
attractive on 123 a

So? they can always be painted as original, or painted with paint
that is "close enough" to original, depending on Grant's taste and
cash roll.
I choose the "close enough" route, none of my cars are for show. It
sounds like Grant's job may warrant use of OE paint.

Yes, 15" Bundt wheels would be "restoration correct look" for the Coupe.
However, after 3 months of search.. have not turned up even one, much less
a set of 5 [need a matching spare, you know].
So they are as declared " Unobtanium" .. unless I wish to buy new, at
quoted price of $389.00 each, plus
15" wheels make all the difference in the world as far as ride and handling. My
LWB W123 had 15" wheels, and it drove very differently than a W123 with 14"
wheels.
Too bad you don't have a set of 15" bundts. Those things are darned near
unobtanium these days.

Yes.. the wheels are from an 87/88 SEL era Mercedes.
I'm not in love with the polished "bling bling" look, but I did want to
migrate to 15 inch tires. Selection of 14" tires is getting near impossible
to get, but I want to preserve the "Mercedes look" .
I'm actually thinking of bead blasting the
Are those the SEL-type wheels? I have a set of those too that came with
one of the SDs, one pair has a good set of snow tars mounted. Note they
require longer bolts than do the bundts.
Polished and shiny look kinda pimp if that is the look you are going
for. Yo G!

I would agree on your observations from a functional standpoint, no politics or
personalities involved.
I would say that in my experience with various factions in our government that
I found the State Department often played loose and fast with little regard for
the "rules", if there were any.

If anyone other than Hillary had the same history of criminal involvement
in an organized criminal enterprise over the past 40 plus years, all assets
would be seized and RICO charges would be brought, trial would be held, and
imprisonment would follow, for the maximum allowed by law.

I am still waiting for my "No Bush" sign from andrew. That, along

Craig,
The last line of the story has the sign owner speculating that Republicans may
be stealing the signs. I have my doubts about that.
I would consider buying a bumper snicker with his design!
