If I recall correctly, *natural licorice* candy is slightly estrogenic, and
also has a slight sedative effect. Most ot the black licorice candy folks
buy is not this kind. To get the real stuff, buy Panda brand licorice
candies in the health food section.

I had my first one of these last fall. While it was not truly unpleasant, I
can't say I'd want to make it an annual event. I am 54 now and my father had
colon
I've had one, and it was pretty much a non-event. The procedure takes about
15 minutes, they give you a sedative as a rule and I don't remember a
thing. The prep was interesting, you need to hang around the house for that
one, and the really good thing about getting a colonoscopy done is that
procedures have been.
