I've had one, and it was pretty much a non-event.  The procedure takes about
15 minutes, they give you a sedative as a rule and I don't remember a
thing.  The prep was interesting, you need to hang around the house for that
one, and the really good thing about getting a colonoscopy done is that they
can clip off little future problem spots, affording you the likely ability
to avoid colon cancer and the potentially major surgery that entails.  I was
also told the 5 year interval.

So you see, it's kind of like car care, you can do preventative maintenance,
or you can do major repairs (that may or may not work) later.  I like to
avoid problems, don't you?  It's always easier and cheaper to avoid trouble
than to get out of it later......
