The Painted Bunting is still present as of 5:30 this evening at the home

This morning I found Common Terns on both Lake Vadnais and White Bear Lake
in northeastern Ramsey County. I generally don't find this species on lakes
in southern Minnesota until mid-May, at which point Forster's Terns have
been around for several weeks.

Several of us just located an adult male Lark Bunting along 140th St.
halfway between Roberts and Sundberg Aves. in northeastern Nobles County.
The bird was originally flushed from the north side of the road and has
since spent much of its time in the agricultural field to the south.

Several of us just found an adult male Lazuli Bunting at Pipestone National
Monument. The bird was initially spotted in the grasses north of the
"Smooth Sumac" sign just west of the falls and then flew northwest out of
sight.

Our group just found a second Lazuli Bunting near the gate to the Pipestone
sewage ponds. This appears to be a bird transitioning to adult male
plumage. It was closely associating with a male Indigo Bunting.

It seems the Snowy Owls have finally made it to southwest Minnesota. Just
found what looks to be a young male sitting along the barbed wire fence

Several of us are looking at a drake Eurasian Wigeon at the main overlook
off of Hwy. 11 at Twin Lakes WMA east of Karlstad. The bird is in a large,
tight group of ducks at the western end of the lake.

Erik Collins and I just found a juvenile Golden Eagle in Isanti County. The
bird was flying close to the road over ag fields on the north side of CR 68
about a quarter mile west of 272nd Lane. There is also a juvenile Bald
Eagle sitting in the same field.

I just received third-hand information that a Blue Grosbeak was seen this
morning at the mockingbird spot at 140th St. in Dakota County. So, if
you're heading over there to look for the mockingbird keep an eye out for
the grosbeak.

This morning I found a singing Connecticut Warbler among 11 warbler species
at Reservoir Woods Park in Roseville. The bird sang briefly around 9:15 in
the patch of woods to the west of the reservoir just north of Roselawn
Cemetery.

It appears the redpolls have made it to the Twin Cities already...just had
a group of four flyovers calling over my yard northeast of Como Lake in St.
Paul.

Erik Collins and I just found a White-winged Scoter with the four Surf
Scoters he found yesterday best seen from 285th St. on the east side of
Chisago Lake.

Red, roughly six of the birds were type 4 and the remaining three were
type 2 (types confirmed via sonogram).

Bird has been refound by John and Chris Hockema at 2:45 PM at the east end
of Wacouta Rd. This is private property but permission was granted to view
from the shore. This is about five miles down shore of Colvill Park.

Also note that this afternoon the bird was associating with one male and
two female Lesser Scaup among many Common Goldeneyes and Common Mergansers;
this morning the bird was seen in association with a Redhead and a
Canvasback (neither of which was seen this afternoon).
