Our first Ospreys have just arrived back on their nests in the Twin Cities
area! Twin Cities Metro Osprey Watch is continuing to monitor all known nests
in the eight county metro area ( Hennepin, Ramsey, Carver, Wright, Anoka,
Washington, Scott and Dakota counties) and we always need help if
Thank you. I e-mailed Roseville Parks and Recreation via their Web
site, pointing out that nesting ospreys are as much of an asset (and
source of pride) as functional baseball lights, and hoping that they
simply wouldn't use the lights until the young have flown -- assuming

I saw the birds and nest construction on Easter Sunday.I was going
to ask the group if this was an old site -- I see that it is not.
The nest is on an outfield light tower between the two eastern-most
baseball fields, east of Victoria.
So what happens now? Does the DNR have a policy
Just received a correction to my observations re: the ospreys in Central
Pk., Roseville. The birds are more likely still in the nest-building stage

the other circled back and remained at the ponds for the
RE:Local Ospreys. The Freeway Osprey nest has actually been occupied for
several days and there has already been an interesting change in the
identities of the birds there. Always interesting! This is my 17th year of
behavioral and productivity research on Ospreys and if anyone would like to be
