I read an interesting article in yesterday's Chicago Sun Times
concerning that city's stepped-up efforts to collect more than $8
million allegedly owed by its top 1000 parking ticket scofflaws.
According to the article, City Hall will attempt to collect the unpaid
fines through waves of lawsuits b

To follow up on my earlier response to Mr. Avidor's question regarding
bicycle lanes on the Nicollet Avenue bridge over Minnehaha Creek, the
city's Public Works plan for the bridge improvement project indicates
that there will be one 7-foot wide lane adjacent to each of the 11-foot

Mr. Peterson is correct in his assertion that the new north/south runway
(17/35) is intended to provide greater capacity at MSP, but
unfortunately, there won't be any noise relief for the good citizens of

I think one needs to be cautious in characterizing resident opposition
to off-leash dog parks as nothing more than "NIMBYism" in action. It's
far too easy to use this argument as a means to discount legitimate

The Minnesota Twins' strong-arm tactics should surprise no one, as
they've consistently shown their willingness to let greed be their guide

Commissioner Young's comment on the futility of efforts to curb speeding

Ms. Nordstrom's comments on pedestrian safety and the degradation of our
parkways by the unlawful actions of certain motorists struck a chord
with me. Her experience with a "thug on wheels" and speeding commuters

recent years. Fo

On opening my morning newspaper, I was disappointed but hardly surprised
to learn that our local kingmakers at the Star Tribune have failed to
endorse Scott Benson for City Council in Ward 11. While I bear no ill
