The backlight works and is toggled when I run 'lcdproc M'
Is the backlight never turned on by myth? It should at least be turned
on when the frontend is started. In the settings menu, I have all
options tagged except for 'always on'. Instead I have the 'pop-up time'
set to 60 seconds.
I am running lcdproc 0.4.5 and mythtv cvs from about 2 weeks ago.
Mike,
Maybe I am focusing on the wrong
error. Here is the error I get when running mythfrontend:

Interestingly, here's a snippet from mythbackend.log from immediately
after the above select statement was run:

It seems you are recreating the wheel. nuvexport already does almost precisely
what you want, and it's just a matter of time before it gets linked as a
jobqueue item.
Is there a way I can automatically generate a cutlist?

BTW, I also found in order to run the commercial flag jobs over (once I
fixed the path), I could set the status in jobqueue to 1. Here is the
sql command I used:
update jobqueue set status = 1 where status = 304;
You could also just go to the INFO popup menu on the Watch Recordings

I plan to use Pundit (used) or Pundit-R (brand new) as both backend and
frontend machine for MythTV. I plan to use Celeron-D 2.4 GHz with fast

Please, could you help me to choose, what will be better: Pundit

I'm having the same problem after upgrading to 0.17 from a working 0.16
setup. I have set the SUID again on the mythfrontend and mythtv and I'm
still experiencing problems with playback of recordings. I notice blocky
artifacts, choppiness, and the recordings drop to a blank screen whenever I
