Of course if you have a large enough of 4:3 the effective screen size
letterboxed can be comprable to a smaller widescreen TV... I think
my wife would have been happier if I got a 4:3 as most of the content
is still SDTV.
While I'm sure there are some die hard folks out there who prefer all
things analog, a DVI ->HDMI cable is probably "best" IMHO. Assuming
that connection on your TV isn't already taken up by somethign else,

What I "know" annecdotally is that budget and cheaper manufacturer
cards tend to "cheat" or skimp on the TV out section/components as a
way to cut corners/costs.
Example: back in the day... it seeme
Quality is "good"... not sure what your expectations are, but I
presume for analog cable as a source you'll be content with the
capture/encoding quality.
