The issue with MS Updates failing has been identified by MS and confirmed
by Symantec as related to Symantec Backup Exec 2010 CPS.
We're waiting to hear back from Symantec for corrective action.

Just got off the phone with MS PSS engineer. He checked our situation and
said they've had several hundred reports of this occurring following the
recent update to the Update Agent 7.6.7600.320. The security team is
working on it but no resolution yet.

users. Two of the users are in the office, one is remote and working via
VPN.
Excel and Word also are having some similar, though not exact, issues, but
Outlook is the main culprit at this time.
