[Nuke-users] CA from grids

2014-01-21 Thread Misho Ristov
Hello What is the best way to extract chromatic abberation from a lens grid. Ideally I'd like to end up with 2 ST maps for distorting R and B. thanks, Misho ___ Nuke-users mailing list Nuke-users@support.thefoundry.co.uk,

I am not sure that is possible, since the spectral crosstalk of the aberration will not fit the RGB pockets precisely So even if you could compute the distortion per channel you still have different abberation based on the color triplet as opposed to per channel. And that is helluva lot of

Is it feasible to use a lens impulse response then run through a Convolve? Like LensKernelFFT on Nukepedia. It seems that it is able to capture a complex characteristic like that. It's a bit more awkward than shooting grids and using STMap per-channel though. On 21 January 2014 06:16, Julik

It’s an interesting problem. Something sci-d-vis could theoretically charge lots of dollars for. I don’t think you could do this with a convolve like that, because those are pinhole exposures. You need to have a solid neutrally-lit test pattern (almost lab conditions) to make a setup, and it’s

[Nuke-users] Capture Viewer ?

2014-01-21 Thread Ari Rubenstein
When I execute the Capture the Viewer feature to create a jpg sequence of my animated OpenGL scene, it writes the frames but does not update the OpenGL display at all... and so it only writes the 1st frame over and over again ? It's an animated camera move but the viewer won't update as it's

[Nuke-users] What do you think of the new Nuke 8?

Hi, I am currently writing an article/review about Nuke 8 and I wanted to include some impressions/insights from my fellow Nuke-Users group members. Any feedback, positive or negative would be great. Thank you all... John Dorante ___ Nuke-users

Silly question but: are you sure your viewer is locked to the camera? If so, maybe it's a graphics card issue. Back in the days we had this issue a lot with 3D apps and had to disablethe graphi'cs card openGL to make such previews work. I was hoping that wouldn't be required anymore theses

Viewer camera lock is on. I do notice that even the OpenGL flip book is not updating either. When I scrub it updates the viewer, just not when I execute this Capture dialog. I'll try the graphics card when our systems guys give me access... Sent from my iPhone On Jan 21, 2014, at 6:00 PM,

Some people turn off double buffering in their video card as it makes things faster with 3d applications but it can cause issues like this as you don't have the multiple draws to prevent hovering windows from being captured. This is why you will also see tearing when playing back in apps like
