The previously reported Am. Golden-Plover was feeding in the median near Field 8 at Heckscher SP around 8:30 AM (now within count week for the Captree CBC). The previously reported Black-headed Gull was milling around in the Setauket Mill Pond at 1:35 PM (but not at 1:30!) this afternoon.

Ed Bescher just called me to report that he saw the Virginia's Warbler at about 11:35 AM this morning at Little Alley Pond, along the edges of the pond itself. The bird has since disappeared, but it's good to know the bird is still present and possibly favoring a new location. Patricia

Patricia Lindsay and I pulled in at Pikes Beach at 9:15 this morning, intending to scan the bar briefly before hitting the Cupsogue flats. Instead, we encountered an excellent variety and fairly heavy volume of migrating swallows, and we shifted into counting mode for the next two hours.
