I think you do not need to replace EventAdmin to implement distribution
and persistence.
You could simply create a listener that receives all events and does the
dsitribution / persistence. Jus make sure you mark events created by
your own impl to avoid recursion.

I think this is a good thing as for many types of configs the naming
makes sense. For example in pax jdbc it is used by convention

is the ability to restart the container.
If I do online updates while a container is running over some time then
the chances are high that the container will not come up when it has to

You can not simply import different versions of the same package into
the same bundle. Inside one classloader each class name must be unique.
The classloaders are only involved when the object is created though.
So there is no problem to pass an A1.0.0 object into a method as Object.

it also gets reflected in RSA discovery. I do not yet
understand why this is a bad idea? I am pretty sure that those two
aspects can coexist nicely. I will have to look into the JAXRS
whiteboard implementation in detail to get a clearer picture.

be better to have one kind of factory
configuration with more flexibility than now.
I think the main issue here is compatibility. Do you think it would be
possible to have the new factory config style only while being
compatible to old code?
