And that's not the end of the vicious cycle.
Students who saved their money to buy a Max license are often unwilling to
accept that their work could have been done as easy in Pd, and sometimes even
better and/or easier. Often they use and stick to Max simply because they have
spent the money
dear list,
i was wondering what current developments with Pd and webstreaming are out
there.
once upon a time there was a Pd-Radio on this URL:
http://pdradio.iem.at
then there is this tutorial: how to make a Pd Radio
there might be a more direct way to get the kinect data into Pd then via
openframeworks, but i don't know about it.

Hello,
I worked out how to use the kinect under windows 7 with the openframworks
addon ofxKinect. Now I do not know how

i tried both, audio definetly must be in the main process, not the pd~ process.
see those patches where various techniques are described:

Hi list,
Is there a strategy to optimize GEM video
compared
to audio ADCs. Its 10-bit, and not more than 16kHz max (more like 4kHz)
sampling rate. Standard digital audio is 16-bit/44.1kHz.
Then, having your Arduino read at 4kHz will require all of the CPU time, so
it can't really do much else then.

It's good to know about this, do you remember who is working on that? I'm not
i guess you are using 03-camera.pd in Bewegungsmelder. The point is that the
students realize it is 3d. use [rectangle -4 3] to flip the rectangle and look
at it from the other side - thus the pixels textured on it are in reverse order.

dear list,
i'm trying to generate a b/w mask in gemframebuffer for a pix_mask
pix_mask seems to ignore the texture from gemframbuffer.
hints appreciated.

it's ok if it is slow, but i want to use gem objects to make a mask i can
animate in gem, so there is now way around the snapping if i understand that
correctly.

yes, a bit.
except that :
- gemframbuffer does not have the same camera position than gemhead.
you need to add translateXYZ 0 0 -4

this patch freezes Pd. it needs the tuio, and you need to wave around with the

never the less it is actually is the [route] that causes the crash, if you
remove that and replace it with a OSC over local udpsend it is stable.
