the best solution for having the camera handy, om my hip.
Additional gear that doesn't fit in the bag goes in the backpack,
in similar Lowepro interchangeable bags.

I lugged my old IBM ThinkPad 755cx in my Checked Baggage on a JAL jumbo to

mirror lens with doubler (1000mm effective), and with a 165/f2.8 (on the 6x7), and
find it does the job just fine, at a decent price. A panning feature would be nice,
like some of the heavier duty ballheads,

Bruce, you're right, $5k is a lot of money. There's a lot of used 67 stuff out there.
You could try a 67 body and a startup set of lenses. If you get right into it,
they'll work fine with a 67II body, and you'll have a backup body. As for lenses, I'd
go for a 45 over a 55.

I would definitely get the leaf shutter lens if you plan to do a lot of
flash photography, since it synchs at speeds up to 1/500. The 55/4 is
