When Time-Warner installed broadband for me they were all ready to
tear open the case and install an ethernet card by the time I had a
chance to tell them I already had one. Sounds like TW guy didn't

Earthlink goes on what the local Phone company has in it's database. If
it's wrong, they're wrong. My local phone company kept trying to sell
me DSL when Earthlink was telling me that I was too far from the local
switch. The local company was wrong.

finally had to bite the bullet and install XP. It was a colossal
nuisance, and about 17 months later I am still recovering from it, but I
am glad that I made the switch. USB port problems are a think of the past.
