Linux is definately more stable.

Curious. Kodak UK has been mounting my Kodachromes in plastic since I started in
1984. The mounts have a roughened surface that will take pencil, fine felt-tip or
(possibly - I've not tried) ballpoint ink. I find them easy and pleasant to handle
too.

In my FG grip i used NiMH with no problems, i emailed Pentax and they stated
that they saw no reason for having any problems with NiMH batteries, they
did how ever state that they did now reccomened against using NiCads.

I found today the SHQ teleplus Kenko AF 1.5 convertor for Pentax AF
for a great price used, close to 25$! in near-mint state. I tried it
out on my current only AF lens, F 1.4/50 and SFXn af body, and it
produces awfull whirring/buzzing sound when AF-ing! This sound
(only less hi
FWIW, I submitted my October image last night by autoPUG, and it worked
just fine. Got almost instantaneous confimation of receipt by e-mail.
Only problem was that I tried to submit an image that was 80K, and it
wouldn't accept it, so I had to go "shrink" it and re-submit ;)

goes up and down like a roller coaster. I'm working on it, and try to

had for $3000, while cardboard mounters started at about $10,000.

I use the snap-together Gepe frames without glass. They are very well made,
and have a "sanded" surface that can be very easily writen with a common
pencil. Also, one side is white (front) and back is grey. Great stuff from

made by Minolta. Some of thier P&S cameras are reputed to be rebadged
Papanese cameras. As for Zeiss lenses, many are made in Japan by
Kyocera. And Leica has not been strong in the manufacture of zoom

Most definitely, the battery pack provides power much longer than the CR2's,
and of course the AA batteries are both cheaper and easier to find. It adds
weight and height, which some people do not like, but I do find it balances
well with longer lenses.
