I have found that the camera diopter adjuster (if present) should be in the
middle position for best viewing quality when using the refconverter. The 1x -
2x switch (at least on the M-Version that I have) will only retain focus

I had a similar thing happen with one of my MX's it started jamming up
when the weather got cold. Then
when the weather was warm. The lubricants were getting sticky. It
probably needs a CLA. Not too expensive

I've had good success using the *ist D TTL with a K macro lens. I use the
Pentax AF400T, firing into a sof' shoulder reflector. The exposures are quite
good and consistent. I think the reflector makes it a little easier for the TTL

cleaned the contact in the battery compartment and the battery holder
and then gently bent the battery compartment contact up a bit. Now it

Yes, you can use polarizing filters on a DSLR. If you're shooting with
an autofocus lens, you'll want to use circular polarizers. You can use
a linear polarizer with a manual focus lens but beware of exposure
meter confusion. I frequently use a very nice linear BW polarizer with
