My recommendation is to get a deeper than stock hood for both the 43 and 77, and discard the filters. The clip-on caps are much better than the slide off and get lost stock caps, I agree. I don't use filters on any of my lenses anymore (besides a cir. polarizer sometimes), but I LVE
