What's the general verdict on the DA 18-135 mm lens? Is it noticeably
better than the two kit zooms (18-55 and 50-200)?
I'be had a look at Pentax' own gallery and haven't found a single really
crisp and sharp image. Then again, I'm used to
prime lenses mostly. Am I expecting too much?

I haven't owned the lens but I did own the Pentax SMC DA 18-55mm
f/3.5-5.6 AL WR which wasn't too impressive. I sold it not long after
I purchased it as I was never pleased with the resultant image
quality. The Photozone review of the lens accords with my experience
and their review of the DA

after all, in APS-C format, what the 28-200mm lens is to 35mm format.

The look of any of my printed images is a result of hit and miss. If I really
like an image, there is almost no limit to what I'm willing to spend in paper
