Nope, my idea for the joke was that if Cotty were to read a hat, and if
it had to do with Oman Ears, the hat would have to be a Tricorne :-).

Indeed. I've seen that news item on TOP too. So it would seem we have
another round of price wars in this category of cameras.

Nikon AF 50/1.4D - $339 at BH
So, if it is only the prices at BH that is the deciding criteria,
Pentax looses.

The initial image is an APS-C format (3:2 aspect ratio), which
I've already cropped to a 2:1 aspect ration while keeping the full
width. Thus I was quite afraid of cutting even more of the sky.
Unless you're printing to a specific format, I don't see cropping as an
issue.

The third try seems more realistic to me.

I don't know. Initially I was shying away from buying Foigt Heliar

problems. Fortunately, I've seen the pictures... So far I've observed

Really weird that you posted that just now..
I photographed one yesterday here In NY - but didn't plan to post
because the background was too cluttered and it also kind of gave me the
willies -- but still I took the photograph. It was a long an

I think that it is becoming clear that the APS-C format hits a real
sweet spot for making use of a LOT of legacy glass, as well as having
digitally optimized lenses available. I can't tell you how happy I am
with the K-5ii. You don't have to give up the wide end (as much as you
do with 4/3). Lots
