Cord tells me that the reason they're not stocking the istD
(or any other Pentax SLR) is because Pentax is not able to
deliver the quantities they need for building volume sales
and the large customer base that a retailer needs to establish

For me there was really no compelling reason to buy the DS
form a comparative standpoint. That was not an issue.
I found it adequate to my needs. That was all.
No major psychological or intellectual effort in this one.

The only thing that the shroud does is hit the PZ connection.
So all you need to do is make it shorter.
I've only done it once. But it was simple.
Step 1: remove the mount
Step 2: take a pliers and snap the shroud off.
Step 3: replace the mount.

I just acquired this MX from a list member who shall remain unnamed.
It's not what was represented, but might be usable.
Right now the shutter release always allows the shutter to fire,

I've recently conversed to 3 pros shooting MF & LF.
Their opinion of Fujinon EBC coating is fascinating.
Each has independently concluded that they don't like
it for shooting chromes. They rather like the lenses
for b&w & think the greenish cast (not near as green

I recently got a Fujinon 135/5.6 4x5 lens from them. When they say
"Bargain", well, it certainly was.
The ONLY mark was a bump/nick on some of the metal in the back. Otherwise
perfect.
There was one incidental short-coming, though. The rear lens cap says
"Nikon" on it.
But at least it's the rea

Council Bluffs, IA.
I got the 28/2.8 for that job and a sorority party. The sorority stuff was
indoors in the winter,
and with my new Vivitar 285 it was all shot at f8 & looked good. But

The focal length and aperture of the lens do not change.
It's simply a cropped image.
The apparent magnification from what would have been a 75mm lens
is there, but only because of cropping.
And, a 75mm 1.2 would have a different DOF structure than a 50/1.2.
