sliding blade (plus 1 refill) and is capable of cutting 11-inch prints. Have
been using it a bit and I quite like it. It can cut narrow little strips and

think what I am looking for is something that isn't
quite as conspicuous, yet has sufficient power. As the
Sunpak flash only covers to 28mm, I'm wary of using it
w/ my 20-35mm lens as the corners are prone to
vignetting. Any suggestions for products that fit
these needs?

Fast glass sometimes comes w/ the same drawback as a
flash, namely by adding more dimension/depth/size to
an SLR. And a flash is a slightly more, ah, frugal
way to add size to my Zx-5n versus fast glass. :)

I've been reading over the instuction manual and it
states the requirements are 4 AA alkaline batteries.

I have the combo of a ZX-5n and a Sigma 28-135mm. I
like this particular combo for everyday use... the
lens covers most of the focal lengths I use most. I
can't compare it to the Tamron, though as I've no
experience w/ it. The lens feels solid and balances
well w/ the ZX-5n. 4x6 prints w/
and Superia Xtra
lines but Superia doesn't seem to come in ISO 1600.

You can easily turn off the beeper if you wish. The MZ-S is more expensive
in Canada than in the US (grrr), but I bought mine here anyway, and I'm very

The fact that it's a manual unit does make it slow to operate, and best for
non-moving subjects.

half-way, unless the AF slider switch is set to AF.C (continuous), rather
than AF.S (single).

It appears that the brand of your 28mm is Focal. I've seen the name before,
and I think it's a store brand, like Quantaray for Ritz Camera Centers.
Perhaps it's made by Cosina, or one of the other often-behind-the-scene

If you're shooting in the barn, the flash will probably be the primary light

They're also called film extractors, and the Kodak one is around $15.

Any dealer should be able to order Pentax SMC filters for you. They're not

are available, except 72mm.
