Chiming in here to ditto what Bob said about using a 28mm. Oftentimes
for me, the 50mm is too close for what I want. I switch out to the FA
28/2.8 - for me, this is a light weight, compact set-up, especially on
the istDS. If I really have to bring one small lens, this is it.

I was at the K7 tour at the San Francisco stop today where I ran into
John Celio. Neither of us won the K7. It would be nice if a PDML
member won one.
I got to play with the K7 and found it to my liking with respect to
size (smaller lighter than Kx0D) and low shutter/mirror noise (John

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks of keeping the *istDS for
reasons of size nostalgia when going up to the next camera. I like
the K200D for it's SR, weather sealing, and larger LCD, but the DS
still has its special place.

I purchased a used DA 16-50 from BH, rated at 9+. I put the lens on
my K200D and immediately realize that the lens won't auto focus. I
check the AF/MF switches on both the camera body lens to make sure
