Dust on K-r sensor

Has anyone noticed the K-r being a bit more dust sensitive than other cameras? I don't think I've been any less careful about dust with the K-r I'm testing for (and about to ship to) Luiz, but at the end of the day, I'm seeing a lot more dust on the sensor. Part of that may have been due

Yeah, I did a small sympathy cringe myself, Larry. ;) I've removed a number of small dust specs that have revealed themselves in images. Strange aspect of this event is that these chunks and pieces of heavy debris DO NOT show on the image. Another odd thing is the grayed out Dust Alert

I performed the Dust Alert with the K20 and DA55~300. I got a debris field similar to the one I'm sending each time. I did the Dust Removal numerous times and all that happens is the debris is re-distributed. I went to my DA*50~135 and sensor appeared clean. I then tried another lens and found

Dust alert doesn't work with some lenses. Don't know why. Sounds like your sensor needs cleaning. Try blowing it off with an ear cleaning bulb. If that doesn't work, use the Pentax gummy stick or some other heavy duty cleaning kit. Don't ad lib. Paul On Dec 12, 2010, at 8:08 PM, Jack Davis
