Terion, I've done a lot of backend programming, but I'm even more newbie than you in PHP... so take this from an equal, & FWIW: I think we in this work can all get dry/impersonal and grouchy at times, but to rephrase the others, in perhaps more encouraging terms: I think the guys just want the natural satisfaction of seeing you grow in understanding. it is really fulfilling to help people; we all love helping someone in need! But we all also want to see our investment stick and make a difference in the long run. 1. There is no $_GET['letter'], there is a $_GET['ID'], so this:

Will call browse('A')
2. This:

Does absolutely nothing because it sets the $letter var, which you don't
even use except to overwrite it with your foreach:
foreach($letters as $letter)
Walk through your code step by step and you'll see the problems.

Your $_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'] has a full path in it. I think you maybe meant to use SCRIPT_NAME, which itself even has the path relative to the document root in it. You could use the basename() function to just get the filename of the path though.
