If this is a Win8 issue then you'll have to wait until Windows 8 is ireleased and in use for a while by a wider audience as cdda2wav uses cygwin and both are volunteer supported and so will probably not have been extensively tested with Win8 under a beta program. ---

Using cdda2wav on my Linux system - two CDRoms (one USB, one Sata) show up but not the internal drive or a USB flashdrive - so I think permissions is the problem. cdda2wav has to have low level access to drive and drives have to have suitable characterstics.

How are the external drives attached - USB2/3 or Sata ? I just use cdda2wav in the plugin - I don'tr know anything about its implementation. I do know it worked OK with USB CDROM drives. At a guess - permissions is the issue and possibly if the drives are only plugged in after Windows power up.

I have Windows XP and cannot find install.xml to change maxversion. The folder where the rest of the working plugins reside does not include CDPlayer. Any ideas? I also cannot check the box in the plugins tab in settings (plugin incompatible). I am running Version 7.6.1. -- Kraken

On my VortexBox 1.9 system (Linux Fedora 14) running SBS 7.6.0, I edited /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/CDplayer/install.xml and changed 7.5.* to 7.6.* After restarting SBS, the CDplayer plugin works as it should. CDplayer plugin version is v1.08_7.3a. -- Ron O
