For systems using udev I wrote two scripts which allows to austostart a
CD when the CD inserted into the drive.
The great thing with udev is, that udev supplies the number of tracks.
The first is a very simple rule for udev.

udev does the trick for bluetooth and cd.

I would like to have the CD autostarted when I insert the CD into the
player. This is a easy task by using the webinterface it's just calling
a url to add and play a favourite (aka a playlis

I have just installed CDplayer (cdplayer-linux-v1.07beta1_7.3), but I
can't get it working and get the following error on the logs:
[12-11-21 22:21:54.4448] Slim::Utils::PluginManager::load (235) Couldn't
load CDplayer. Error: Plugin is incompatible with this version of
Logitech Media Server
If this is a Win8 issue then you'll have to wait until Windows 8 is
ireleased and in use for a while by a wider audience as cdda2wav uses
cygwin and both are volunteer supported and so will probably not have
been extensively tested with Win8 under a beta program.

I spent some more time with it tonight and I can't find any permissions
that would seem to be applicable. I'm pretty sure it's some sort of
issue with ATAPI and Windows 8. The device is described by Windows as
"USB to IDE". The closest I've gotten to any success is this:

Using cdda2wav on my Linux system - two CDRoms (one USB, one Sata) show
up but not the internal drive or a USB flashdrive - so I think
permissions is the problem. cdda2wav has to have low level access to
drive and drives have to have suitable characterstics.

I don't have a Mac - it was another user who did all the testing for
OSX. I do remember there were some things about OSX which made it
difficult to get CDplayer working.
I'll have to go back through this thread to see what OSX issues were

There is no need to change maxversion. The plugin has been updated to

I only checked install.xml file in the zip file for 1.08 on Linux and it
had MaxVersion as 7.5.*. I didn't do any investigation on other OSs.

plugins. I won't be able to get around the checking the plugins for
about a week.
The install.xml file limits the plugin to 7.5.*. I'm not sure what OS
you are using but changing the MaxVersion to 7.6.* in install.xml and

I can get the list of tracks on the CD to appear in the right-hand pane

That is the likely reason why the CD/DVD drives are not seen by the
cdda2wav as it seem Windows seems to prevent services from access
Automatically run at system start

IIRC Windows prevents access to CD/DVD drives if SBS is run as a
service. So in order to determine if this the cause of your problem you
need to know how your SBS is configured to start.
So please check as follows
1. Open Squeezebox server control panel
2. Select Status tab
3. What is the select
I think it only starts once I log into windows but it is automatic

SBS server can be configured to start either on PC startup , on user
login or manually.
Which way have you got it configured ?
