Hello, I posted this over on the VortexBox forum but no takers and
thought I'd give it a shot here. I've pretty much exhausted my research.
Would like to see if anyone here has run into this issue before I
reformat the drive.
I have a VB running VB 2.5 on Fedora 25 on it's own Micro ITX comp
I started ripping to FLAC about 15 years ago and have tried various
rippers over the years. EAC was the first ripper I tried I think. Though
I have tried a number of rippers I settled on dBPA a long time ago and
have stayed with it due to it's feature set and flexibility. I use
Vortexbox but

need to re-rip c. 1000 CDs maybe more.
I have however turned off the auto rescan on the Vortexbox so that I can
check and edit as necessary in mp3tag before LMS rescans overnight. I

in VB. FYI, by default it also adds a playlist (.m3u) file to each CD

More better to use virtualbox or vmware to create a virtual machine
running vortexbox.
It will scan way faster than the same computer running winders and it
only takes 512-1024 MB
I'm unable to use a static IP address on the vortexbox, if I set one and
reboot the server it still uses dynamic addressing which is a real
pain.
Any ideas?
I've gone from dynamic to static rebooting each time many many times
now and the problem remains, it keeps the dynamic address???

and you are positive you are giving the VB a static IP address that is
OUTSIDE the range handed out by your Router?

Static means static and it really doesn't matter if it is in the
router's DHCP range.
I've had this happen when for one reason or another, the VB is not

I'm also not getting any apps in my apps, which seems to have coincided
with these problems.

apps, yet internet radio seems to work?
I've reset the password in settings for mysqueezebox and logged in and
out of mysqueezebox.com to confirm the login details.

Did you set a working DNS server(s)
Yes, I've used the router address as the dns and my isp's dns servers,
no change. Rebooted router, server and restarted the squeezebox service
too. My apps remains empty.

Actually I have the same issue and I cant figure out the problem.
I can also go to suspend, but after few minutes my vortexbox starts
again.
Besides the vortexbox, I have only 2 players attached on my network.

The quick way it to use Run Command from the Windows main page using the
IP address of the Vortexbox. You will get a Windows Explorer window,
double click on Files, then Music, then either FLAC or MP3.
