the song title.

that's my opinion anyway, having converted lossless to 320k VBR Ogg and
then compared to Spotify equivalent.
Triode, is there any way of turning off the replay gain via the API so
the track streams aren't normalized, just delivered at the original
levels.

Erm, don't know. I've never used

crappy Logitech speakers won't cut it. ie. I'd be hard pressed to tell

AFAIK, if you have one of the older ip3k players then you need to run a
local SBS and Triode's plugin. Only the Touch and Radio are able to run
without a local instance of SBS using the official Logitech Spotify
plugin.

I get the feeling that Spotify isn't that interested
by most 16 bit streams. (I also STR that the output
format is hard-coded to 16/44.1.) Most computer audio hardware does not
support 24 bits directly so the stream needs to be output to the
hardware at 32 bit (if supported) or down converted to 16 bit, if not.

I've just verified the hunch posted over at GetSatisfaction regarding
adding audio_enable_norm:0 to the Spotify settings file. It does
disable volume normalisation on Intel! (Tested on Linux x86_64 with

suggests that including audio_enable_norm:0 in the settings
file might switch the normalisation off.
A reply to that says it doesn't work but another says it does.
