How about some more info - OS ? SC version ? Type/media being played ? Version of Java ? How did you install SoftSqueeze ? I think there is a problem with the zip version - the libraries don't match and usually an error message appears. Most users use the Extension Downloader. -- bpa

The bugs that 3.8 and 3.9b1 solve relate to non MP3 streams which are transcoded into Flac typically WMA or RealAudio and also problems with pause/play. Your problem does sound like a network issue. -- bpa bpa's Profile

The logs are a good starting point. What format does Pandora use ? Have you got an account set up for Pandora ? What are you currently using to play Pandora over SC ? Can you also test Squeezeslave on Pandora and Sirius as another check to see if it is an SC issue. -- bpa

With Gentoo installations of AlienBBC the script mplayer.sh seems to lose its execute permission. Check the AlienBBC Bnn directory and make sure mplayer.sh can be executed by the Squeezecenter process (i.e. check ownership and permissions). -- bpa

There is no settings in the released version. There will always be a delay but it can be minised down to maybe 0.5 secs (but if your network is not near perfect you make get rebuffering then) so if you are planning to sync video and audio for example - it won't work. -- bpa

the time taken to start a live stream has gone back up to about 10 sec. Also for some reason some streams are now taking longer to connect so try increasing the Web UI Settings/Advanced / Network/ Radio Station timeout to say 20. -- bpa

and system. You could try to increase it to say 0.3 or 0.5 and see if it works. You do not need to stop SC between test. Just edit mplayer.sh altering the sleep value between testing playing BBC station. Make sure edit is saved and that playlist is cleared before each test run. -- bpa

Signal 13 is broken pipe which mean SC has decided to stop listening to mplayer so it is the same timeout problem - just you now see it from mplayer side. I noticed before you have your system set up for nosound. How did you do that so that I can test that setting on my system. -- bpa

There's no indication of a problem with mplayer - just with access to /dev/fd/3. This is the exact symptom which resulted in the mplayer.sh update so I think it is mplayer.sh that needs to be sorted. How about my question about SC7.2 with Alien2.4 on Ubuntu9.04 ? -- bpa

Quick reaction. There is something wrong - that conf file dumps all mplayer error message to /dev/null - they should not be visible. IT is possible the conf file is not being used. Can you show the player.source = DEBUG log where the mplayer command is shown. -- bpa

version of flac are Bug 10886 ( http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=10886 ) and Bug 11223 ( http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=11223 ) Using standard Flac I reckon the main problem you will have is that stream will probably stop after about 3hrs. -- bpa
