I'm on Android 13 with WebView 108.0.5359.128 also. Can someone show me
a screencap of what they are getting with a long press on BROWSE
please?

Yes, that is what I was expecting but it doen't operate that way for me,
BROWSE button always takes me to HOME, regardless of touch, press long
press etc. Oh well...

Ron, thanks for your reply. Yes, my Samsung S22 is running Android 13.
Thanks for the heads up. Now I will put it on an older S6 that I have
hanging around and play with it.

Yes, photo and my description may bea little mis-leading. When in
PLAYING or QUEUE a long press, short press, or touch of the BROWSE

Thanks for that feedback about the browser version, it wasn't totally
me!

Having said that, I am now trying the APK. Now, this probably is
something at my end, a short touch of the Browse button takes me to the
menus as expected (see screencap below). Any longer press of the Browse
button (0.25 sec, 0.5 sec, 1 sec, 2 secs, 5 secs, etc.) takes me to the
same menus (see same screencap below!)

Can you show me an example of what I should be seeing?

Nup, I have tried and tried so carefully but all I get is the browser
download menu, a shorter press in the same exact location of course
takes me to the menus/folders/c as it should. Will eventually try a
different browser and see if that works. I am using Duck Duck Go
browser.

Spot on! It was the PowerSave plugin that was the issue, set to "always"
(default?) rather than "on stop" etc. I had installed it to try it out
int the last few weeks as it was discussed briefly here, and immediately
forgot I had done so, apologies for that.

Yes, am enjoying the multi-zone functionality, great job!

That is probably it, I had the system on yesterday for much longer than
I have for months (due to the weather here finally being worthy of
outdoor enjoyment!) and during that time I wandered away from it but
left it running, which is unusual behaviour for me, so I wasn't changing
tracks or volume as I usually would. Today was I was simulating for log
files I left it playing at a low volume without fiddling, again unusual.
Thanks for your reply on this, I knew that zone one didn't time out when
being used so assumed the same for Z2 - so much for assumptions!

I will of course be mindful of it in future.

Most likely solution will be to turn the amp time-out off in amp

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin

2022-12-04 Thread DavidBulluss

Hi Sam. I have noticed that after about a half hour of play the Denon
amp switched off and music play is paused when using Z2. Controlling via
MS on android. If Z1 is also on then Z2 shuts off and Z1 remains on.
Touching PLAY on the MS interface turns the amp back on and it reverts
to my preset volume. I do have a 30 minute AUTO STANDBY set generally
but it hasn't caused a shutdown while playing music Z2 prior to the
recent plugin revisions. Though I would start with the plugin to find
any issues so have attached a log in which the issue occurs twice, if
you wouldn't mind looking at it for me to see if it is something the
plugin is doing, or not doing!

I took your lead and set increments to 1% and it is much better thanks.
By the way, I am still persevering with using Squeeze-CTRL and have
noticed that the up/down swipe on the now playing screen does affect the
volume but in large jumps from which it sometimes jumps back quickly to
where it was. Just mentioning out of interest.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin

2022-11-08 Thread DavidBulluss

Hi Sam, I have been noticing the slide up/down volume interface when
using MS very jumpy and sometimes non-responsive then it jumps to a
different volume. I have increments set at 2%, could possibly just be
lag in my system? All while using Denon receiver. Have attached a debug
in case you feel like taking a look.

Thanks for trying it out, I have installed it but haven't yet had a
chance to give it a run. I had never given it much thought when I have
seen it in the list but it will be very useful at my end apart. Some
mornings I find my SBT units have turned themselves on during the night,
luckily I do not have them set to auto-play! Not sure what causes them
to turn on as it is always both of them and it does not relate to power
outages, especially having household battery back-up. Now hopefully if
they turn on randomly they will power down after the preset period.
Funny story, years ago I did have them on auto-play and I was overseas
at the time when they turned on, but they also turned on at near full
volume, much to the neighbour's annoyance and amusement. Luckily, after
they contacted me I was able to control the system remotely and turn it
off.

Cheers, David

Sam, this problem also occurred one time while I was using V4.7 release
yesterday, but because I couldn't replicate the conditions that caused
the issue I was going to wait for it to happen again to report it.

Good tip, sweet!

I am seeing an unexpected behaviour, you may be able to help me out. I
have been using MS for control, and my primary receiver Zone is z2. I
also have LMS connected into z1. Power on LMS, z2 comes on, can play
music and control volume etc. Select z1 in zone menu, z1 powers up,
again vol etc. controls perfectly. Select z2 in zone menu, z2 is now
controlled for vol. All great and running smoothly. Now turn of the LMS
(via MS) and LMS powers off, but Denon Z1 & Z2 stay on. Turn LMS back on
(MS) and I can turn Z1 & Z2 off using Denon AVR settings and they turn
off. Then power down LMS (MS). I had debug on while I was trying it out,
attached just in case you want to have a look. 38970
Earlier in my testing, may not be in the log file, I found no responses
at all for volume or on/off by the receiver, and I could only resolve it
by rebooting pCP (and by default LMS). This happened a couple of times.

Cheers, David

Hi Sam, I am using the V4.7 of Denon plugin still, and have taken your
advice to give Material Skin a try, very impressed! Interestingly
though, and it is likely me doing something wrong again, I have set it
up for left/right swipe track selection as well as up/down swipe volume
adjustment - left to right works correctly but up/down has no effect on
volume, same situation as with Squeeze-CTRL. I have double check the MS
settings and tried turning the settings on & off etc. but I can not get
the up/down to respond. Did you find this with MS?

I will take a look at it. I did try to go back from the beta version by
replacing the two beta files with what was there pre beta, but it didn't
revert completely, still some remnants of the zone menus, so I am back
on the beta. I could remove the plugin and then reinstall but I am happy
to stay with the beta for now, maybe Material Skin is the answer.

Hi Sam,

I already have the Squeezer app on my phone, and having tried both I
preferred Squeeze-CTRL, mainly for the up/down swipe vol control
interface. While the plugin is not controlling the behaviour, I suspect
that the use of the revised plugin has caused the change in behaviour.
As a test I am going to reinstate the previous version of the plugin and
see how it runs.

I haven't had a very long testing session yet, access to Z1 of the Denon
has been limited due to it being wet here and others deciding they want
to use it!

In the brief sessions that I have managed I would say that it is working
well and I have the volume level issues sorted.

The only downside I am seeing is the interface with Squeeze-CTRL
regarding volume control. As mentioned before, the swipe up/down on the
"now playing" screen does not adjust the volume as before, but does
affect it albeit in varying increments and randomly, sometimes
increasing during a swipe down, plus there is no onscreen report of the
volume level anymore. It I select to have the "pop-up" on, then when I
swipe up/down a pop up volume bar appears which I can use left to right
and it shows vol level, still not ideal. Also, the fixed vol controls on
bottom left of the screen do function, but again there is no report of
vol level on screen.

I will get to do a longer test at some time soon.

My bad, I must admit to rushing a bit this week, been a busy one.
Weekend coming, will be able to take a better look through everything.

Correct that I can set Z1 on volume as you stated. Not sure what is
going on but once I set it to "Last" the amp started acting unusually,
and wouldn't switch on or off via Denon plugin. Eventually had to
disconnect from mains and wait then reconnect. All fine for a while then
it did it again. On & off via remote and it started behaving again. I
have now set power on vol to a numeric value and it seems to be working.
In switching between zones via plugin at one stage the track playing
restarted, which is odd. It only did that once, and it was while I had
power on V set to Last. Time to install the further revision, me thinks.
Will do so and try it out.

Again, thanks for all of this.

Cheers, David.

Hi Sam, I am enjoying the way it is working very much, its main fuction
with regard to controlling separate zones is great.

Re the volume jump after turning default zone off and then back on using
the plugin menu, I have checked every setting I know of, in particular
QuickSelect where I have now set the on volume quite low for Z2. Along
the way I have tried setting the volume via the receiver but the only
options for Z2 is variable or a set volume (which doesn't work with
fixed volume for LMS) and the option for last is not present for Z2 (it
is for Z1), apart from Quick Select I can see no option for setting the
on volume for Z2. The volume jump still occurs, and is to around 60 or
so, where my general listening level is within 20 to 50. I can live with
this, I will just not turn Z2 off if I think I might want to turn it
back on in the same session, I will just turn its volume down to 0.

The Squeeze-CTRL interface is evolving. As you noted, I had turned the
Show Popup on, but only in an attempt to see if it had any effect on the
loss of swipe up and down on cover art function which I use, but it
didn't. Oddly enough, when I turned the show popup off today it partly
restored the swip up/down function, but it is very jerky, I suggest that
it is responding very slowly and at the moment is virtually unusable. I
am able to use the std volume control function though so again I can
work with it.

Log file attached: 38938

Having reported all of that I must say the function is amazing, and you
must be congratulated for what you have accomplished, well done!

Cheers, David

Sam, you were correct about .txt still on the file, all corrected now.
Starting with default zone only, Z2, the zone selection menu is there
and I can select another zone. When I select Z1 it turns on and selects
the correct input and I can control the volume now independent of Z2. By
then selecting zone selection Z2 I can now control volume in Z2
independent of Z1. That all works very nicely. Given both zones are on,
if I select one of the zones (e.g Z2) I can then turn it off by
selecting it in the top line of the menu where it says Zone 2 on, and it
turns that zone off. Again it works well. My only grumble is that when I
turn that Zone (in this case Z2) back on by selecting it again in the
top line it comes back on but with a much higher volume than either zone
is/was being played at and certainly not the volume it was set at before
being turned off then on, and certainly not the volume the other zone is
set at. It may be something that I have preset elsewhere so will take a
look, but that high volume level has varied each time, sometimes 60,
sometimes 69... etc.

There has been a change in the volume control behaviour in Squeeze-CTRL
that I do not like. Previously I was able to swipe album art up or down
to control volume, now swiping the album art brings up a slider volume
control which I have to swipe left/right. I can not see that any
squeeze-CTRL settings have changed. Have you seen this change?

I would have attached a log file but when I just checked it the logging
was not set to debug for the app, it had reset itself to error.

Cheers, David

You are correct that I had missed the most recent version of plugin.pm.
I replaced the older one with it and now the Denon AVP Control plugin
has disappeared from LMS. I then reverted to the previous beta and the
plugin was then reinstated in LMS. Log attached.

Well spotted! I have now set the volume output level to 100% and I can
now see the zone control, and have been able to select between Z2
(default) and Z1. Z1 automatically switches to the correct source, same
as Z2. Only problem I am now getting is volume is at 100% with no
control other than at the receiver, which isn't workable for Z2 due to
remoteness of listening area to receiver. Maybe I have missed something
else?

Have just manage a quick play. I commenced with the receiver turned off
for both Z1 & Z2. I am using Squeeze-CTRL. I navigated to settings -
Denon/MarantzAVR settings and there are options available for my default
zone, Zone:2 Power: and in the next two lines Quick Select, and also
Input Source Select, both of which expand upon selection to provide
options as expected. I could not see any way to turn Zone 1 on. I then
turned Z1 on manually by remote. Still no option to turn Z1 on or to
control inputs etc. Should I be seeing options for the Z1? If so, am I
looking in the incorrect menu? I have attached a log file that may or
may not be a help, it should show from before I turned LMS (Z2) on by
Squeeze-CTRL with Zone 1 already turned on.

Hi Sam, yes, I have been quiet, getting a bit of travel to warmer places
during winter now that covid has backed off and international travel
restrictions have eased up.

I have a couple of hardware players hooked up to different Denon
receivers. One of them is in an area of the house where an indoor area
has opening doors to the outdoor area. Having said that, I rarely use
the hardware players and generally use software Squeeze CTRL on my
android device. This particular player/receiver combination Zone 1
serves indoor, Zone 2 outdoor. During warmer weather I tend to use Zone
2 (outdoor) mostly and have it set up that way as quick select input and
as such only Zone 2 turns on when I start Squeeze CTRL (unless someone
is watching TV/video/gaming indoors in Zone 1 in which case Zone 1 is
often already on). It would be convenient to be able to switch Zone 1 on
from Squeeze CTRL and then select the SBT input for that zone also from
the Squeeze CTRL app, also being able to turn Zone 2 off if it happens
to be on. Not so concerned with volume control for Zone 1 being separate
from Zone 2 as generally I wouldn't run Z1 & Z2 together, and if I did
they would be playing the same music. Does that make sense or have I
made it sound confusing?

Cheers, David.

Installed the update yesterday and managed to get a quick play with it.
It works well, and the interface in Squeeze CTRL is perfect. Just a
question, if you have been able to include input selection into Denon
AVP plugin then how far can you take that? Is it possible to incorporate
turning on/off other zones on the same Denon receiver? Just a passing
thought.

Hi Paul. I have only just installed mixcloud plugin and I am
experiencing a glitch. I installed it via LMS Settings - Plugins and
selecting then saving & restarting. I then followed link to API key
which I copied and pasted in to Settings - Advanced - Mixcloud and
saved. Glitch is that podcasts that I have tried so far only play around
50 seconds in and then stop. Selecting play starts them playing from
0.00. Any thoughts?

I am running LMS nightly with latest update on Raspberry pi with pCP
latest version.

Actually I have had Squeezer for quite some time, but for some reason I
have prefere Squeeze CTRL. Having said that I will give it a run to
check out the settings for Zone 2, although I could experiment with
Squeeze CTRL on Zone 1 of my other amp, I guess. ;-)

Thanks Sam, updated and the Zone 2 Quick Select works very well. Just an
aside, as you told me that the Channel Level Adjustment and Preamp
Volume does not work with Squeeze CTRL for Zone 2 I just HAD to try it.
Nil effect on Channel Level, but adjusting Preamp Volume at all kills
the sound completely. Brought back to life by choosing the Quick Select
# , sound then all good! For a moment I thought curiosity had killed the
cat! LOL

Thanks Sam. I haven't actually tried the Preamp volume and Channel
Volume Adjustment so no issue there. Elsewhere in the house I use Zone 1
with another Denon amp and separate Logitech Squeeze Touch so will give
that a run with those controls to see how it goes. No hurry on the next
release.

Hi Chris, short answer is no. When I use zone 2 I usually leave Zone 1
turned off (unless someone else is using it for TV etc.) If I turn Zone
1 on also then a settings saved msg appears but is non specific as to
whether it is saving for Z1 or Z2, or both.

Hi Sam, I am using Squeeze Ctrl on android and am finding that during
play I have increased the Denon volume diectly using remote or other
means from 64 to 75 or so then gone to SETTINGS in Squeeze Ctrl, then
DenonAvpAvrControl, Quick Select, and selected Save Current Audio
Settings. Msg appears "Audi settings saved...". I then turn off Touch
via Squeeze Ctrl. When I turn it back on the Denon amp has defaulted
back to the lower volume of 64. Am I doing something wrong?

Is there anywhere that I need to go to to change settings in LastMix so

Hi Chris, no issues to report here, all appears to be behaving! But I
have been interstate and away from the system for a week so haven't been
able to give it a very good thrashing yet :o

Sam & Chris, you have been doing an amazing job with this plugin, really
appreciated! It is working extremely well, and despite my initial
hesitancy regarding the SBT and amp not being controlled simultaneously
for volume level I am loving the way it is now set up... when the SBT is
swithched on the amp is pre-set to my selected volume, and SBT is volume
controlled, is working very well! Thanks!

By the way, having an option to leave the amp turned on when closing SBT
down is a good one but not an urgent one for me.

When moving the "party" completely from Z2 to Z1 I do use the remote to

It depends on circumstances at the time. Sometimes I let them both play,
that is usually when entertaining and I keep the vol fairly constant and
set Z1 vol using the Denon remote, other times I just turn Z2 off if we
are moving inside from being outside. No real pattern to it.

In consideration of every thing I *may* set up one of my spare android
phones as a LMS and connect it to either Z1 or Z2 rather than having
them both fed by the SBT and try that for a while :-)

I also have another player Squeezebox Touch set up in another part of
the house connected to another Denon Z1 only, not using Z2.

That would be a great solution. You are correct that I have the app set
up for Z2 and I do control Z1 using the remote as I am near the amp
while using Z1. I find that as winter sets in (as it is now on my side
of the equator) I use Z2 less and less until spring comes around, and
during that time am using Z1 more and more.

What if I am using only one LMS player feeding to both Z1 & Z2 of the
amp? Both zones are receiving the same signal simultaneously. I will
have a play with it all as suggested.

That idea I really like! Again, maybe peculiar to my system is that Z2
is outside and quite a distance from the amp, and as such the remote
doesn't work when outside. Yes, I know, set it before you go outside,
but I usually turn the LMS on with Z2 when already outside.

I will give the 4.1 beta a run :-)

It may be, but does that mean I need to set Z2 (the neighbours love it!)
to my maximum preferred listening volume when turning on via LMS and Z2
QS? If so, not desireable at my end as mentioned a little earlier. Hey,
don't get me wrong, I love what you are doing, but I am thinking I won't

Yes, I understand that logic, but for may set-up the missing part of the
puzzle is that I sometimes run Z1 on the same amp I am running Z2 and I
always set Z1 manually (it has the main household TV etc. running
through it and source gets changed unpredictably by grand kids, spouse
etc.) so I set it manually depending on the mood at a volume and adjust
music vol using LMS. Hence keeping LMS variable suits.

Hi Chris, I may well be the odd one out here but for all of its clumsy
behaviour I actually really like having the two volumes adjusting
together. If the amp volume is going to need to be set initially at my
desired highest level (5db for example) it means that there is a 5db
bomb waiting to explode should someone else select a different input for
zone 2 without me having first turned it off. Currently I alway turn the
volume down to a reasonable level unless I am listening intently to
something so the amp is usually back down at 65%, or there about, when I
leave it unattended. Maybe a switch for the new feature to be on or
off?

As suggested I set the Zone 2 input to another input (TV) and then
turned it off. Turned on LMS and when amp responded it had selected
correct volume and input (LMS) as per the Z2QS. It may be messy in the
log but it gets there!

There was a possibility that I had inadvertently affected Z2QS when I
was having problems with 4.1 beta so have reset Z2QS and it appeared to
work well.New log 34509 to look at.

All was running well in V4.0 . I will run a debug on V4.0 once I get to

Synching volume now turned off. Zone 2 tested 34507.
Whwn turning on all is correct except QZ appears every few seconds on
screen of AVR. Also, initially adjusting volume on LMS does not control
the amp until I take the LMS volume very high then the amp vol jumps to
life. After that no problems with volume control and QZ stops appearing
on AVR screen.

I have installed the new 4.1 beta and have noticed that when using Zone
2 with the setting "enable synching the volume" ticked (as I have had it
set previously) LMS adjusts the amp volume correctly but the volume
reverts back to the start up volume approx 3 seconds into the following
track in the playlist. It appears that quick select is being triggered
at the change of track. LOG file attached. If I untick it then LMS does
not control the volume of the amp anymore, and of course the vol remains
constant track to track.

I think you may find that the upper level models with 9 channels have 3
zones, but not having one am not sure ;-) As an aside to the 4 Quick
Selects, both my amps have 4 and one is fairly old but they only have 3
select buttons on the front fascia, QS 1, 2, & 3.

It probably does bother me as much as you, needless trips to that part

Yep, my AVR 2113 does it regularly, and solution for me has always to
turn the amp on manually, then off again, usually all good after that.
It doesn't seem related to how long it has been turned off though, I can
go a few weeks without powering on from the client and it will be all
good first up. At other times it may not fire up on first power on but
turning off from the client and then back on often brings it to life.

Good morning! I set the Squeeze CTRL vol incs @ 5 for all players. Log
file attached is firstly for the Zone 1 AMP which did not respond at all
to UP then DN mute control although it faithfully responded to the other
two options. Secondly for Zone 2 AMP which did not respond to the UP
then DN either, but faithfully responded to the other 2 options. It was
a brief test period so will keep an eye on it. ;-)

OK, first up AMP 1 Zone 2 turned on, music played. when muting the dn
then up worked, but up then dn didn't. Simultaneous up&dn worked. Then I
played with volume a bit and then up then dn worked. Turned off LMS &
system.
Next AMP 2 Zone 1 turned on. Mute via dn then up worked as dis
simultaneous. Also experienced a period of muting not working.

Pressing down then up or down and up works on my Zone 2. Up then down no
result. I have just tried it on Zone 1 on a different Denon AVR and at
first muting worked down then up, but down and up at same time didn't,
nor did up then down. Interesting that it stopped working altogether
i.e. dn then up wouldn't work and I must have tried it ten times. Then I
used the phone vol buttons to greatly reduce the vol and after that it
did (dn then up and also together, but still not up then dn. Then it
went flaky again for a while. It is possibly my wifi I am guessing. If
it becomes a feature I will turn logging onto debug and send it
through.

was down/up quickly and I was trying up/down initially. Is it possible
to add script for both options?. Also, for me, 0.5 sec would be a better
limit from down/up.

Great work!

Good to see it is coming together well! My Zone 2 vol is set at LAST for
power on. Volume that I had Zone 2 QUICK SELECT set for is 65 (guessing
decibels as it is set within the DENON setup browser via network) which
is reported by SQUEEZE CTRL as 85%. I have Denon AVP Control plugin set
to max vol of -10.

I hope that helps.

OK, set Zone 2 input manually to something else, set volume of Zone 2 at
30. My QUICK SELECT volume setting is 65. Using SQUEEZER turn on of LMS
worked as expected, with Zone 2 volume being set to 65 and correct input
selected. Seems all good from where I sit :-)

Latest files installed and tested. I thought there was an issue with the
main zone of the amp remaining on after turning LMS off so I turned on
debug and went through turn on, play track etc. and turn off and the
main zone went off. Log attached. At this time I must say it is working
perfectly but will have a better play with it after work today. Funny
side to it was that initially I could get no sound from zone 2 after the
updated files were installed but I tracked it down to not having Zone 2
QUICK SELECT set up! I thought I had, years ago, but the amp went in for
repairs after a lightening strike a couple of years ago and they must
have wiped some settings; all good now!

Log file attached. Started up at 25% volume, increased from there as I

Squeezer works quite nicely, but turning on the zone 2 volume sets at 0
still. Then it takes roughly 3 vol up presses on phone vol key to get
volume. Log file attached. Possibly something to do with my
set-up?Although, it wasn't doing that before I loaded the beta. :-)

I will try al of that including Squeezer. I was actually using Squeezer
before I mover to Squeeze CTRL (originally Squeeze Control but
superseded) because there were aspects of Squeezer that didn't suit me,
but it had been years LOL!

Log file attached. What I have noticed is that when first turned on and
track played that there is no volume. Turning up volume brings it
suddenly to life and volume is probably as it was when last played
before being turned off. No waking of neighbors :-) The other thing of
note is that when increasing/decreasing the volume using volume onscreen
buttons (Squeeze CTRL) it jumps in 10% increments. Apart from that all
good so far.

It would be a pleasure, bring it on! Very happy to test the beta.

Yep, the next time I was replacing the files with the beta ones I saved
them elsewhere as a backup :-)
