Thanks for working on this one - another great addition to the stable :-) As you say, the limited bitrates are a real shame, but hopefully you'll be able to sort out the signon and we'll have access to the higher rates as well. BTW - one really minor thing which I only noticed because I was using Material. In Material, if you look at the settings, it shows you the help, and the help for the "Show in Radio Menu" says "Times Radio", not "Global Player"... psketch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114305 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Global claim to be the largest radio group in Europe now with 25 million people listening in the UK each week, so, on the very large assumption that all of the globalplayer stations use the same approach, it would be a really nice addition, and now the HD streaming thrown into the mix. Did Michael comment further on the need for backward compatibility on AnyEvent? From that thread, it looked like he was saying it would need backward compat., which makes perfect sense, vs. there was some kind of known issue with 7.x vs. 5.x. Was it more "we don't know if it works" vs. "there's known problems". If it's the former, is it worth a conversation with Michael to see if upgrading AnyEvent is an option, as that seems to have the widest benefit, vs. writing some kind of standalone proxy. psketch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114000 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] GlobalPlayer (UK) Plugin - ClassicFM etc.?
Now that @expectingtofly is spoiling us with lots of great addins, I wondered if anyone had had a look at the feasibility of a plugin for GlobalPlayer. For me, this would be for ClassicFM mostly, but there are loads of stations in their stable now. The main advantage vs. a stream is they now claim to offer HD audio through their app if you sign up for an account. No idea of course if there's an API available of course, but if they're restricting it to people signed in with an account, I guess there's reason for them to want to enable as broad access as possible - more ability to profile us vs. if we just listen to a stream. psketch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114000 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Most of my devices will play 24/192, but I have a Transporter, which caps out at 24/96. If you change player whilst in > myapps the list of apps may change - if one is on mysqueezebox and the > other not, etc. Hi Craig I got to the bottom of this with Michael and thought I'd share it for anyone else interested. As you say, you're reading the available Apps for a player from the LMS. For mysb based Apps like Tidal, the player needs to be registered on to the logged in used on mysqueezebox.com. With hardware based players, it's straight forwards to register on mysb as you can connect the player directly instead of using a local LMS. However, with non official players (e.g. Pi's running PCP/Squeezelite in my case), they can't connect directly to mysb. To work around this, Michael added functionality in LMS to add a player to mysb when it connects to the LMS (so long as the LMS is logged into mysb of course). All good so far. The problem I have is that some of my players won't register on mysb because it had already been added in the past to someone else account. The registration is by MAC address. Someone else had run squeezelite or something else on the PIs that wouldn't register for me and those MAC address will stay registered forever to that persons account. I hadn't thought of this - I know about it for a Boom/Touch etc., but of course some previous owner of my second hand PIs had also used them as an LMS player. So, if you can't see Tidal listed under Apps in Material for a particular player but it's there for other players, it's likely that your MAC address is listed to another user. Have a look at mysqueezebox.com/Players. If it's missing, you likely need to ask Michael to manually remove that particular MAC address from someone else's account. pete S psketch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm not sure if it's any use, but if I look at another app which does build the list fully, I see [{ "channel": "/slim/request", "data": { "request": ["aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff", ["myapps", "items", 0, 200, "menu:myapps", "useContextMenu:1"]], "response": "/c8461e01/slim/request/2" }, "id": "10", "clientId": "c8461e01" }] and the response is [{ "successful": true, "clientId": "c8461e01", "id": "10", "channel": "/slim/request" }] So, looks like it's taking a different approach. psketch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Hi Craig The problem seems to be that registering non-SB hardware based players on mysb.com isn't supported - according to Michael 'here' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111815-piCorePLayer-connected-to-MySB-com). Oddly, about half of my pcp players are registered, and these ones do show the Tidal app in My Apps in Material. The others don't. The correct behaviour for devices wanting to connect to mysb, according to that thread from Michael, is to go via lms, which then doesn't add the players. Given that Michael says he might delete all non-sb hardware based players from mysb.com, I wonder if you could take another look at this. As I mentioned, I guess there may be another call to use, as I see tidal listed OK for the normal UI, and for other apps, like squeezecontrol. pete S psketch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The player I was on doesn' show up on mysb for some reason. Now, how to make it register there with a squeezelite based pcp player I wonder. Odd thing as I said is that other apps and UIs aren't affect - I guess there's a different call required for mysb controlled apps perhaps. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
I recently updated to PCP 7 for my server from 6.1 on my PCP (Pi 3B) and have come across a problem I've seen quite a few times - I can't make Tidal show up in My Apps. It shows fine on the normal classic UI, also if I use SqueezeControl, but I can't make it show at all on Tidal. I've seen this before, but normally stopping and starting gets it to show up. I've tried deleting and re-adding but with no joy. If I add a different app, that does show up - just seems to be something funny with Tidal. If I have BBC Sounds, Tidal and Times Radio added, I see the following JSON Code: [15:11:39] JSON RESP: {"params":["b8:27:eb:xx:xx:xx",["myapps","items","0",25000,"menu:1"]],"method":"slim.request","result":{"base":{"actions":{"playControl":{"window":{"isContextMenu":1},"itemsParams":"playControlParams","params":{"_index":"0","menu":"1","_quantity":"25000"},"player":0,"cmd":["myapps","items"]},"go":{"cmd":["myapps","items"],"params":{"menu":"myapps"},"itemsParams":"params"},"play":{"itemsParams":"params","params":{"menu":"myapps"},"player":0,"cmd":["myapps","playlist","play"],"nextWindow":"nowPlaying"},"add-hold":{"itemsParams":"params","params":{"menu":"myapps"},"player":0,"cmd":["myapps","playlist","insert"]},"add":{"params":{"menu":"myapps"},"cmd":["myapps","playlist","add"],"player":0,"itemsParams":"params"},"more":{"window":{"isContextMenu":1},"params":{"menu":"myapps"},"cmd":["myapps","items"],"player":0,"itemsParams":"params"}}},"item_loop":[{"actions":{"go":{"params":{"menu":"bbcsounds"},"cmd":["bbcsounds","items"]}},"addAction":"go","type":"redi rect","icon-id":"plugins/BBCSounds/html/images/BBCSounds.png","text":"BBC Sounds"},{"addAction":"go","actions":{"go":{"cmd":["timesradio","items"],"params":{"menu":"timesradio"}}},"icon-id":"plugins/TimesRadio/html/images/TimesRadio.png","text":"Times Radio","type":"redirect"}],"window":{"windowStyle":"home_menu"},"offset":0,"title":"My Apps","count":2},"id":2} So - looks like the json is only returning 2 items. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.5.2 beta test
I'm using 1.5.3 and in general all seems well with the streams with one very odd situation - one of my players just streams silence, whilst all the others seems to work fine. I have a mixture of h/w (transporter, boom, SB3) and picore players. All work fine apart from one, which has a pi2, picoreplayer & Hifiberry Amp+. Other h/w players seem fine, as do other pi based players. On the one that doesn't work, it's streaming other content fine - e.g. local music, TIDAL, other internet radio services. When I try and play bbc, it picks up the channel information and bit rate - just no sound. Really strange. If I just tell the player in the next room to play the same content, that works fine. Hi All I'm not sure if this adds any more light to the stopping problem I'm seeing, but i've done some more testing this morning, installed the HLS plugin and ffmpeg, and I've found that if I play the streams directly (non-uk version), then they play fine with no stopping. For example http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_fourfm.m3u8 plays fine. So, same server, same transcoders etc., the stream will play directly fine, but not through the 1.3 plugin. pete S psketch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I've got a few Pis here, but don't use them for LMS. It would probably be ok with server and player on the same pi though, if you aren't trying to play multiple BBC streams at once. A Pi v2 should give quite a bit more headroom - only mentioned the B+ because it is being discounted. I'm still curious - are you in the UK or not? Hi Yes - very much in the UK. The only reason for this non-uk issue is that although the Azure data centre is in Dublin (which itself might cause problems), you get an public IP address allocated from pools which contain IP addresses registered pretty much everywhere - so it can look like you're in Brazil quite often. Through trial and error and use of the capability called Reserved IP, I managed to get an IP address which reports in the UK, but it seems like whatever method BBC uses still doesn't like it for some reason. Whilst LMS 7.8 can be got to work there's more work to do with faad updates etc for older SB devices (can you remind me what you have?). So for the purpose of a simple test 7.9 should be easier. LMS should install itself so that it starts when you boot Linux, so there's little to do other than open up the web interface and do the usual settings. To get just iPlayer working should then be just the same as you did with the windows version - select the repositories and plugins as per the guide you used before. No faad changes should be needed. OK - spun up a Ubuntu VM, installed 7.9 on it and it's very similar to the Windows version - the non-UK versions plays for a few seconds and then goes into rebuffering. But it looks like something is wrong with the LMS player streaming after a few seconds, as the data is being read far too quickly after that initial buffering period. Additional debug logging will be required to see what is happening there. I presume you are using a player that requires transcoding (i.e. not a touch, radio or squeezelite with aac library), in which case this may be an issue with the transcoding system. Bpa knows best what debug logging helps to see what is happening there - player.source logging has been mentioned, but additional logging may be needed seeing as the stream does actually play to some extent.
